Some cities and regions are trying to limit the growth and role of ride
sharing services such as Lyft and Uber. The reasons are a whole separate
matter and way
I'm still trying to wrap my ahead around the reasoning that has the state
Utilities Commission even worrying about ride sharing. In my state, the PUC
worries about things like electricity companies and natural gas!

This is a message I posted to Facebook a few days ago. It has my thoughts
on Bolt vs. Tesla Model 3.
Why I'm Driving Tesla
I was reading an article today about the new Chevy Bolt. It sounded like a
nice car, but my first reaction was that it wouldn't be the same as a Tesla.
That kind of surpris
My first question is:
what is the problem they are trying to solve with this troubled
solution?
It sounds like it creates more problems than it might solve, so
apparently
this "solution" is not a good one.
Ergo: change the solution, if there even needs to be one.

Isn't there a figure, like 30% IIRC, of the dealers income that is dependent on
servicing the vehicles they sell? Well if there is only 'one moving part' that
income is going to be reduced drastically...
I really don't see the ICE car dealers cutting their own throats...

The GM I know would use that as a reason to make the battery smaller and
cheaper (without lowering the car's price).

You're going to need a LOT of HUGE dealer incentives, 'cause right now
they'd much rather sell ICE pickup trucks and SUVs.

Ah, unintended consequences.
I don't see this as deliberately anti-EV, even if it may have that effect.
It appears to be aimed solely at limiting perceived social / public harm
from Uber and Lyft. That perceived harm may or may not be a real problem,
but that's not what we're here on the EVDL
