him renting an EV1 in California. So there may still be some rolling, it was
after the recall and crushing I am pretty sure.

Yes, read the car that could. The author was allowed to follow the project by

leased the EV1 and never sold it. It's almost like they were planning on

The sad fact is that no one actually "owned" an EV1 (with very rare
exceptions.) No doubt, many would still be on the road today if GM had
allowed private ownership.
I had the privilege of driving one when they were first introduced at
the EVS-14, and it was a very nice car.
