Mid to late May would be excellent! For those of us in academia
(universities), this puts it after the end of the spring semester, but
before summer semesters begin.

Looking at the calendar it looks like Memorial day is May 25th so I
don't recommend doing this on the 22nd as many people will take the
Friday off prior to Memorial day weekend. At least around here people
start heading out in boats and camping, etc.

That leaves us May 15 and May 29th - I think May 29th is a Jewish
holiday? Can someone confirm? I'm assuming we want to stick with Friday
(though Wednesday might be better as it is mid-week)

Thank you Donna, Chriss and all who gave very valuable feedback.

If there are enough consensus we could do it may 27th (Wednesday).
Are there any issue with that date ?

Kind Regards

I personnally think Friday fits better as it allows to end the day in
restaurants or pubs without worrying of the late hours.

Hello

Although we are doing the wpd2008 postmorten, we can start to talk about
date for wpd2009.

I believe it is a good idea to keep it one month after PC, but before
december. So, i'd like to propose Friday November 27th as the date for
WPD 2009.

I'm going to guess that you're not in the U.S., right?

Thur, Nov 26 is Thanksgiving day; arguably the 2nd biggest holiday in
the U.S. Virtually everyone in the U.S. has the next day (Fri, Nov 27)
as a holiday as well.

Which means your proposed date would guarantee virtually a zero turnout
in the U.S.

+1

I proposed this earlier, because I think it is better to have a
balance of events during the year. Someone pointed out to use the
Plone Conference as a mean of motivating people to organize the WPD.
But I guess this is not needed. We're all motivated enough. ;-)

If we talk about no-gos: usually in September we have our annual DZUG-
Tagung in Germany, so please do not schedule the WPD in September or
early October.
