Nobody has to keep their eyes open, unless you're following the score for technical reasons. It's one of the Bach Cantatas. Reducing the world to just one unnecessary distraction for once; at least for 7 minutes. When we speak of self; we infer identity, separateness, a dichotomy between - that which we perceive as self - and the universe the self observes. A lot of the spiritual traditions. and the psychedelic experience. and perhaps some empirical evidence as well allude to an un-nameable, ineffable un-seeable yet manifest something. The Vibe! What if the universe is a symphony written large and the multiverse a veritable panoply of musical styles and compositions. Chris, Yes, that's my concept of what I call the Uni-Verse! It's certainly a valid way of looking at reality. If everything is pure abstract information continually being computed that information can be taken as music in which case the entire Uni-Verse is playing music, or rather IS music playing. One huge symphony with myriads of local subthemes all in a harmony that certainly qualifies as divine if anything does. Truly the music of the spheres!
