One thing you have to be careful about is the Inspiron 5000*E* series. As Intel is discontinuing cpu-on-a-card deal, they had to get a newer model of Inspirons out that uses the newer cpu format. I can't speak for any other models, but Inspiron 5000E(vs just 5000) changed how they implement
