Colombian Soccer Player Reportedly Detained in Saudi Arabia
Over Jesus Tattoo

A soccer player from Colombia reportedly was detained in
Saudi Arabia for walking through a mall wearing a sleeveless
shirt that revealed his religious tattoos, including one of
Jesus.

Juan Pablo Pino, 24, a member of Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr
soccer club, was taken into custody in Riyadh on Friday by
Saudi moral police after mall customers complained about the
tattoos. Pino was visiting the mall with his pregnant wife,
the Catholic News Agency reports.

Nayimi Sheik Mohammed, a Saudi cleric, told Colombia Reports
that the country respects Shariah law and that tattoos must
be covered at all times.

Pino later apologized for his actions and was released from
custody after a team delegate discussed the matter with
police.

Last year, Romanian soccer player Mirel Radoi of the Al
Hilal team drew criticism when he kissed the tattoo of a
cross he has on his arm after scoring a goal, the Catholic
News Agency reports.

The conservative Muslim country also has faced international
condemnation recently for its law banning women from
driving. Last month, Saudi King Abdullah, facing global
pressure, revoked the sentence of a Saudi woman ordered to
receive 10 lashes for driving.

The basic idea is that the mind is naturally unruly at the start,
particularly because of the dominance of rajasic and tamsic thought

HEADLINES OF MAHARISHI'S GLOBAL FAMILY CHAT

Maharishi’s Global Family Chat Summary
December 2, 2011

First report from Romania, where the
Movement was re-started around 1990.

National Director Nicolae Stoian gave a brief history of the Movement in
Romania. Between 1977 and 1981 hundreds of people learned Transcendental
Meditation, but all teaching had to stop when the government of the time
clamped down. In 1989 TM teachers came from outside and started teaching again,
and many senior people learned.
In 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, teaching increased. Nicolae has
been teaching regularly, and Anna Balink, a Governor from Hungary who was born
in Romania, has returned to live near her native village. Her husband has built
a beautiful Vastu home where she teaches.
Nicolae has been National Director for 4 years, and this year 4 weekend courses
and one 8-day rounding course were held. He gives great credit to all those who
have contributed to enlivening Maharishi's knowledge in Romania over the years.
Raja Felix has undertaken a highly successful tour. One of the first meetings
was with a university where the response of the Director of Education was just
‘How could we start?’
Schools are also being approached, and the first group of teachers and students
is due to learn Transcendental Meditation next week.
The feeling is that groups of meditators can be established in education very
quickly, especially with the opportunity for taking a delegation to visit
Maharishi School in the UK or USA, or schools in Latin America, and seeing
actual schools in which Transcendental Meditation has been practiced for years.

The important thing to remember is that what you think
is a TM-related experience is *never* a spontaneous
experience; it's *always* the result of having been
pre-programmed. (And that applies, miraculously, even
if you've had the experience before you've been told
what it's supposed to be.)

You had it exactly right in your previous post: You
need to revise your experience so it conforms to Vaj's

Actually we've all already been pre-programmed to believe in the
stress release, unstressing, model is factually correct. Each time
we transcend we're chipping away at those stresses in our nervous
system. So I believe most of us who were indoctrinated into TM would
  chose as you did.

Thanks for examples of tecniques that utilize #1. But just to be
clear, since you reverse the order in the first and second parts of
your paragraph, I found TM to aid in a dissolving of the
samskaras. I'm not getting the planting of sattwic seeds as it
pertains to the practice of TM. Care to be more specific about that?

The basic idea is that the mind is naturally unruly at the start,
particularly because of the dominance of rajasic and tamsic thought
patterns. If you take something sattvic, like a goddesses mantra and
repeat it enough times this embrues the mindstream with sattvic
qualities, making it easier for the mind to settle down.

From a standing start, Nokia have really grabbed people's attention with the

doesn't show the subject line of the deleted post. The post

for posts made in that time slot might bring up the deleted post.
 But, it's really tedious work.

 http://alex.natel.net/misc/vaj_deleted.jpg

Yeah, too much of a hassle to track down the exact posts that
were deleted. What I'm wondering is whether a bunch were
deleted when Robin first joined us--or perhaps after I'd
suggested to Robin that he check out the discussions we'd had
about him in the past. If so, and if the deleted post numbers
fell in the time frame of specific past discussions about
Robin, it might be worth the trouble to track down what the
deleted posts said. But I wouldn't ask you to do that.

What *is* interesting is the timing of Vaj's deletion of the
photo. That happened only a few minutes after raunchy made
her comparison of Vaj's photo with what she said were photos
of the old church that was torn down. As it happens, I didn't
think the bell tower in raunchy's photo was the same as the
one in Vaj's photo; there were several distinct differences
if you looked closely.

A little later she posted a correction saying the photo she'd
found was of the *new* church, for which a replica of the
old bell tower had been built. If it wasn't an *exact* replica,
that could account for the differences I saw between that
bell tower and the one in Vaj's photo; Vaj's photo could have
been of the old church.

In any case, I'm wondering, would there have been any other
ways to verify from Vaj's photo that it was--or was not--
actually taken in Fairfield?

Maybe he didn't delete it as a result of raunchy's post. But
the timing is curiously close. And why would he have deleted
it so soon after having made such a big deal of it? What was
in the photo that he suddenly decided he didn't want us to
see after all?

Religious Council Says Allowing women to drive in Saudi Arabia
would mean no more virgins and an increase in homosexuality, according
to academics at Saudi Arabia's highest religious council, Majlis

More pornography would be used if women were allowed on the roads and
rates of prostitution and divorce would alo rise, the report stated
 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/saudiarabia/879314\
 5/Saudi-woman-to-be-lashed-for-driving-car.html .

Produced in conjunction with Kamal Subhi, a former professor at the
King Fahd University, the study into repealing the ban predicted that
there would be no more virgins left in the Arab kingdom in 10 years.

Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world which bans women from
 driving.

Professor Subhi described sitting in a coffee shop in an unnamed Arab
 state

 -in-Saudi-Arabia-will-be-end-of-virginity.html where all the
 women were looking at me.

One made a gesture that made it clear that she was available,
he said. This is what happens when women are allowed to drive.

The report was produced for the country's legislative assembly, the
Shura Council. However this institution has no power as Saudi Arabia is
ruled by a monarchy with absolute power.

The state's controversial ban on female drivers last came under
attack in September after Shaima Jastaniya was sentenced to 10 lashes

granted women the right to vote. The punishment was overturned after
 international and domestic pressure.

Saudi Arabia is currently considering a law for women to cover up their
eyes if they are deemed too tempting.

It's a psychological fact (from independent studies on TM) that a certain

HEADLINES OF MAHARISHI'S GLOBAL FAMILY CHAT

 Maharishi’s Global Family Chat Summary
 December 2, 2011

First report from Romania, where the
 Movement was re-started around 1990.

National Director Nicolae Stoian gave a brief history of the Movement
in Romania. Between 1977 and 1981 hundreds of people learned
Transcendental Meditation, but all teaching had to stop when the
government of the time clamped down. In 1989 TM teachers came from
outside and started teaching again, and many senior people learned.
In 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, teaching increased.
Nicolae has been teaching regularly, and Anna Balink, a Governor from
Hungary who was born in Romania, has returned to live near her native
village. Her husband has built a beautiful Vastu home where she teaches.
Nicolae has been National Director for 4 years, and this year 4
weekend courses and one 8-day rounding course were held. He gives great
credit to all those who have contributed to enlivening Maharishi's
knowledge in Romania over the years.
Raja Felix has undertaken a highly successful tour. One of the first
meetings was with a university where the response of the Director of
Education was just ‘How could we start?’
Schools are also being approached, and the first group of teachers and
students is due to learn Transcendental Meditation next week.
The feeling is that groups of meditators can be established in
education very quickly, especially with the opportunity for taking a
delegation to visit Maharishi School in the UK or USA, or schools in
Latin America, and seeing actual schools in which Transcendental
Meditation has been practiced for years.

The New Politics of ET Affairs on Earth Posted on June 26, 2011

The worldfs first polling place for ET affairs on Earth is now
open. This is a response to the ongoing, covert, UFO activity over
Washington, D.C. Click this link
http://www.unicusmagazine.com/freeDCUFOphotos.htm , and this link
http://www.unicusmagazine.com/freeDCUFOphotos_2.htm , to see for
yourself what is occurring in DC, but is not being reported by the
main-stream media.

PLEASE VOTE http://www.unicusmagazine.com/poll.htm

What does this mean?

Everyone on this planet will be effected, to some degree, by open
contact with peaceful extraterrestrials. Therefore, it is very important
that all the people of Earth be given a chance to vote on this matter.
Our future relationship with peaceful people from other planets should
not be controlled, or interfered with, by a minority of elite leaders on
Earth.

Although this type of global politics is a new concept to the people of
Earth, it is how important political affairs are conducted within the
Federation of Free Worlds. This is a democratic, legal, ethical and
moral process that will improve the lives of all people on the planet
Earth by opening the door to contact and commerce with peaceful
extraterrestrials.

PLEASE VOTE
  http://www.unicusmagazine.com/poll.htm

Why does this matter?

The results of this global polling place are being monitored by
representatives of the Federation of Free Worlds. According to their
laws and ethics, they can not interact and openly assist the people of
Earth unless they are invited to do so by a simple majority of us. That
is why your vote matters to the future of mankind on Earth. If you want
to begin having a relationship with peaceful extraterrestrials please
vote accordingly and then forward this link to your friends and family
members, or post it on your website.

PLEASE VOTE http://www.unicusmagazine.com/poll.htm

Thank you very much for your participation in this transformational,
political process.

Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Rare video of Robin and Ravi on YouTube

Well the movie plot goes like this.

Ravi recognized raunchy to be a greater than Mother Teresa.

Raunchy denies and starts a completely new line of attack making up stories
about how Ravi is interested in Alex, when it's clear that Ravi was cleaning
Alex's clock.

Mother Teresa Raunchy meanwhile starts romping with Twisted Liar Vaj.

Ravi returns , cleans Raunchy's clocks, once, twice and counting..

End of story.

Keep an eye out for the sequels.

You can check with Barry as well, who despite Ravi not making any effort to
clean his clocks, peed over his entire wardrobe and has been to reduced to the
mediocrity of the status of an unpaid movie reviewer, which he so richly
deserves.

With regards to Barry wetting his wardrobe without me making too much effort,
it's a tactic every adult, parent knows.

All a teacher had to do in India to control an unruly classroom was to pick the
tallest, strongest boy and smack him. The entire class went silent, not to
mention kids like Barry that peed in their pants.

Something you may not know: the reason they eradicated a lot of the crops was
so they could create a lower supply while the demand remained the same. That
resulted in a massive increase in its value, and they made a lot of money later
on. That's how they fund their weapons and ammo.

You're right, the Taliban had no beef with America. Bin Laden's existence
there blackballed them. America should've chased him into Pakistan, got him
early, and come back homeIMHO. Now, 4 trillion dollars later we finally
got himin Pakistan. Waste of money...and life. As much as I don't like
Obama, his military strategy has been better than Bush and Cheney's work.

Another good thing the Taliban did once is they hung a 15 year old boy in
public for possessing American currency.

I was wondering which planet that is - My guess was Jupiter since it appeared
in that spot during last year or perhaps two years ago. Those strong winds this
week blew away the atmospheric dust so I was able to take some very clear
pictures of the moon as it was rising tonight.

So, you need Dana Sawyer, who never even tried TM, to

about the TM or the TMO? Go figure.

Dana was a TM teacher, speaks fluent Hindi, has interviewed just about every
significant yogi and swami in India, etc. I'd say he knows a thing or two
 about TM and the TMO.

He never interviewed any of the people who supported Satchananda or
Vasudevananda, IIRC. He said he had no interest i getting their side of the
story, or words to that effect.

Jupiter has been really spectacular this year. Several times, I've looked at it
through 10x50 binoculars and have been able to see four of its moons.

[FairfieldLife] Re: Buddha and Meditation

2011-12-05 Thread emptybill

This article is a sales job, not a real analysis of the similarities and
dissimilarities.

There are different styles of Buddhist meditation, from Mahayana
shamata-style of outright concentration practice to effortless breath
awareness meditations. One stream goes from Satipattana Vipassana to
Mahamudra to Dzogchen. Another stream is Rinzai great questioning/great
doubt vs Soto Shikan Taza (Just Sitting). Another is a combination of
Pure Land Great Faith recitation and no object contemplation of
Chinese Chan Mo-Zhao Silent Illumination style. Then there is Tibetan
Tantric Deity-Mandala meditation: Kye-Rim/Dzog-Rim.

Simplistic articles just don't advance anyone's understanding.

rumor probably started because I've mentioned here that I know
of a couple of books in the pipeline that the movement won't be
too crazy about (Dana Sawyer's and Judith's).--Rick Archer,

(Rick also said around the same time that he had read the
 first three or four chapters.)

In any case, unless Dana has undergone a major change of
mind, we know it's going to be negative in at least some
respects, based on the quotes from Dana's emails to Rick
on various aspects of the Guru Dev succession controversy
that Rick has posted here; plus the fact that Dana refers
to MMY in the emails as Mahesh, which is a pretty sure
 sign of a less-than-100 percent-positive perspective.

Isn't Mahesh supposed to be MMY's given first name? It's certainly strange for
a scholar posing as a neutral party to refer to a person whom he has never met,
but whom he has written formal words about, by his first name.

avoid it (food sensitivities, for example). I have hypersensitivities of my

  my experience.

It's a psychological fact (from independent studies on TM) that a certain
type of person self selects and decides to pay and undergo TM initiation -
and that self selection all occurs from how that particular segment reacts to
 the intro lecture content.

I guess the question then becomes what unique vulnerabilities does this
 group of humans have?

That might be, but of course, this doesn't say anything about the kids and
prison inmates who learn TM en mass through the David Lynch FOundation.

From what I've read, Dana Sawyer is not a graduate of
M.U.M., and his name does not appear on the TMO list of
approved teachers or lecturers...

  authfriend:
The names of teachers who have left the TMO generally
do not appear on such lists. (Not sure Sawyer was a
   teacher, but that's irrelevant anyway.)

Well, I would think someone has to be some sort of TMO
insider, in order to write a good report on the 'TMO'.

I'm in the middle of watching Rick's Batgap interview
with Sawyer, and in connection with the issue of how
to stay engaged when one is doing routine work, Sawyer
just mentioned having to memorize the checking notes.
So he was enough of an insider either to have been a
TM teacher or to have taken checker training.

One thing about that comment: I'm glad I hadn't heard that before I was
memorizing the checking notes

hmmm... I seem to recall that checking was often part of the TM checker's
training, at least in the 1974ish timeframe...
