On my TTC in Majorca, there was a real basket case. This guy had absolutely no 
focus. Just stood in the lecture hall and drooled, a real mouth breather. 
Maharishi knew he had to do something and one of the things he did was limit 
this guys mediation and had him doing lots and lots of asanas and running, 
under supervision of Dr. Elliot. Rumor was that this guy had done a lot of 
drugs in the past which I believe can trigger major depression. Anyway, I saw 
the guy a year or two later and he looked much better... could breath through 
his nose at least and seemed much more focused.

 I was thinking the other day that the Judeo-Christian tradition has a hidden 
idea of the yuga cycle that is mentioned in the vedic texts.  Specifically, the 
story of the Fall in the Garden of Eden has seed thoughts that human beings 
appeared on earth with the highest level of consciousness.  But, due to the 
temptation of Satan, Adam and Eve fell from this level to the lowest level of 
consciousness, which is represented by them being cast out from the Garden.  In 
vedic thought, the highest level of consciousness is represented by the Satya 
Yuga and the lowest level is represented by Kali Yuga.
 

 Similarly, the Jewish tradition, particularly the writing of Isaiah, promises 
the return of the messiah who will save the people from bondage.  This return 
is similar to the beginning of a new cycle of Satya Yuga after completing the 
Kali Yuga.  However, the orthodox Jews are still waiting for the messiah to 
come, whereas the Christians believe the messiah has already come in the person 
of Jesus Christ.

El Salvador too earlier on.  Talked to someone here in Fairfield today who 
deployed with a team to El Salvador.  They packed and went to the airport 
dressed in suits and tie and were off to El Salvador as a group.  The person 
said he did not know or care about the mathematics and square root of it, but 
felt that there was an evident good effect by the meditation given the 
conditional time in their arriving there and meditating.

 I was going to say that.  But that was before I got interested in TM.  All 
that I know is that the TM movement tried to buy one of the main universities 
in Manila to become the TMO's Vedic universities.  But the Roman Catholic 
Church in the country made a very loud and concerted effort to stop the sale.  
Ferdinand Marcos, the dictator at the time, was intimidated and obeyed the 
Church's demands.  Anyway, all of this happened, before I was initiated into 
TM, which was in 1993.

I remember Mentmore Towers [UK] emptying of all the Perusha governors etc. who 
lived in it after they each raised some money and then they all popped off to 
the Philippines for a month or so. I was left to cook for just one person other 
than myself as far as I remember. 
  
 I heard they swept through as much of the place as they could, teaching the 
locals for nothing (no charge). I think MMY treated Marcos the dictator with 
the dignity of a leader, then it seems Marcos had to flee soon after in 1986. 
However, this is not specifically down to people meditating because the People 
Power Revolution started in 1983 and the WGAOE lads (average age 30?) went 
after that.
  
 To be honest with you, I wasn’t sure of the times and dates because we had no 
TVs or newspapers or radios - there wasn't even a telephone in the British HQ 
for the World Government of the Age of Enlightenment! (I just had my copies of 
Science of CI, Bhagavad Gita [first 6 chapters by MMY], 'Living With the 
Himalayan Masters' and 'Autobiography of a Yogi').

Most can't and won't.  Without real refugee status or a situation where 
unification of family plays in, it's not going to happen.  We should stay here 
anyway and organize and vote our way to REVOLUTION, starting with single-payer 
healthcare.

I was going to say that.  But that was before I got interested in TM.  All that 
I know is that the TM movement tried to buy one of the main universities in 
Manila to become the TMO's Vedic universities.  But the Roman Catholic Church 
in the country made a very loud and concerted effort to stop the sale.  
Ferdinand Marcos, the dictator at the time, was intimidated and obeyed the 
Church's demands.  Anyway, all of this happened, before I was initiated into 
TM, which was in 1993.

[FairfieldLife] The spiritual marriage of Shiva and Shakti

Hinduism's Yoni/Lingam is symbolic of the spiritual marriage of Shiva (our own 
higher spiritual nature) and Shakti (the serpent fire at the base of our spine, 
kundalini). The 'star of David' is also symbolic of this spiritual marriage 
that occurs when the prana in the sushumna rises during meditation and embraces 
it's Lord, Shiva, bingo, Enlightenment.

Notice all the pictures of Shiva and the 'snake' behind him, this is 
symbolizing the mastering of the kundalini/sex force which can create 
(enlightenment) or destroy when left uncontrolled (sexual over indulgence). The 
symbolic snake has been ubiquitous in all the great myths and ancient Religions 
even in Mayan cultures. Remember Moses' snake?

In TM, we eventually will have to raise this Kundalini force at the base of the 
spine to reach self and God Realization, whether passively or actively. Ayurved 
is an effort to 'clear' these channels (vayus), for the *key* to Yoga is the 
awakening of the Kundalini!

So when Hindus 'worship' the Lingam it is reverencing the highest goal possible 
by mankind, the spiritual marriage of Shiva/Shakti. For those of you who don't 
already know this. :-) (Took me a while to figure it out)

I once considered retiring in Mexico. There are several ex patriot communities 
there. But you've got to put up with all the corruption and drug lords etc. 
Besides, every time I've ever traveled over seas, I couldn't wait to get back 
home. Well the last I heard, there were over fifty million people on food 
stamps alone. If you can't afford to feed yourself, how are you going to pick 
up and move to a foreign country and set up house keeping? I'm sure there are 
plenty of unemployed people that would like to work but there aren't enough 
jobs, although at least 11 million illegal immigrants haven't had any trouble 
finding some. It might require new policies to attract manufacturing back home. 
Seems to be much cheaper and economical to do business over seas and bring your 
product back here to sell.

 What about moving further south like Costa Rica or Panama?  Many speak 
English in the latter.  Retirement dollars go farther there.  But I don't think 
the west coast states are going to be very friendly to a Trump presidency nor 
even a Clinton one.

out there when most would like to work but the capitalist pigs have pushed them 
out of the work force in favor of importing foreign slaves, in many cases even

We've become a *service oriented* jobs nation. Many of the those jobs were 
originally done by teens or as a part time or supplemental job. They were never 
meant to be jobs to raise a family on or pay a mortgage. The manufacturing jobs 
have gone over seas due to cheaper labor, fewer regulations, fewer taxes.

    Well the last I heard, there were over fifty million people on food 
stamps alone. If you can't afford to feed yourself, how are you going to pick 
up and move to a foreign country and set up house keeping? I'm sure there are 
plenty of unemployed people that would like to work but there aren't enough 
jobs, although at least 11 million illegal immigrants haven't had any trouble 
finding some. It might require new policies to attract manufacturing back home. 
Seems to be much cheaper and economical to do business over seas and bring your 
product back here to sell.

 This is a whole another level of activism (order of magnitude) from some 
anti-war protesting like shouting “Hell no We won’t Go! and burning draft cards 
that we may have done back in the 60’s.  This is modern social direct action, 
going up towards the front lines and meditating.  Look at the map on the site.  
Bravo, these European meditationists!
 

 In the grace of large nature, spirituality by experience and science are with 
them.  This is high-minded.

What about moving further south like Costa Rica or Panama?  Many speak 
English in the latter. Retirement dollars go farther there.  But I don't 
think the west coast states are going to be very friendly to a Trump 
presidency nor even a Clinton one.


You still have this false belief that there are a bunch of welfare 
recipients out there when most would like to work but the capitalist 
pigs have pushed them out of the work force in favor of importing 
foreign slaves, in many cases even less capable.

In former heady times using the facility of the TM movement to test the 
hypothesis of cultivating group consciousness Maharishi sent teams of TM 
meditators around the world to areas of conflict -like in to the Nicaragua 
conflict. 
 
 I ran in to someone here recently who deployed to Nicaragua in a peace project 
that came out of a solicitation that was made in a NYTimes advertisement by the 
Nicaragua government or parties from there to help end the civil war there in 
the 1980’s.  Maharishi sent a team of meditators.

TM can in some cases create or worsen depression.  TM uses lunar mantras 
which are generally cooling and slow the metabolism.  Thus the attendant 
benefits to high blood pressure and anxiety.  But some people already 
have a slowed metabolism and slowing it more can result in depression.  
One family member had such clinical depression.  One day when I had been 
invited to go to dinner I found her in a depressed state.  I had left 
some ayurvedic teas at their place and made her a kapha tea 
(stimulating) and it snapped it out of her depression for the rest of 
her day.

This is a threat(?) that crops up all the time in the UK with various celebs 
saying they'd leave the country if The Conservatives (or who-you-will) win the 
next election.  

 I've never heard of one of them who made good on their promise.
 

 The only exception I know of is that rogue actor Gerard Depardieu who stated 
he was handing back his French passport after a tax hit on the wealthy. 
 In 2013, Vladimir Putin signed an Executive Order granting Russian citizenship
