I've a

Chris,
I
I was thinking about commenting on no-kill shelters and "hopelessly"
aggressive dogs. It's quite a moral dilemma. So many of these poor
animals, (I agree, it's not their fault at all!), are sentenced to a
life of deprivation and they end up going crazy in solitary
confinement. Without the one

Nina,
I think everyone here knows my views on the no

It is great for those that can be "retrained",
but my dilemma is with the poor dogs that have to live such a solitary
existence. And some of these dogs

Rachel,
I'm thrilled to hear of your rescue and their wonderful efforts to save
each and every animal. I hesitated to even bring up this subject,
because I too feel that every animal should be given every chance. Not
every rescue is as concerned and conscientious as yours and my heart

Hi, For the IV's, shots and examination you may want to try a Squeeze
Cage. If you can get the cat into a Trap then you can transfer it to
the Squeeze Cage. If you put newspaper under the bottom of the trap
you can keep a cat in a BIG trap for a few days.I don't know if you
know what a Squeeze
You can also get the same type of carrier (with wheels) from the
Collections, Etc. catalog for $14.95 . Their phone number is 620 584
8000
Kerry
I don't what your budget is, but since you haven't bought carriers yet,
maybe you could use Karolyn's squeeze cages instead, (to do what we
already talked about with getting them used to going in the carriers).
There's also something called a trap separator. It fits in through the
wire
At least for now, use some kitty-vite. There are other nutritional
supplements too. You out like a teaspoon on thier paw and let them lick it
off. It will hold them for awhile. It worked miracles for our baby that
wouldn't eat. It was a few days.

Im really not very knowledgeable
about dogs. But Ive often wondered whether some of these dogs who
are so distrustful of humans might do better with a small group of similar dogs
somewhat like feral cats colonies. I know that dogs
