Jenn I'm sorry to hear the news of Ewok's decline. I know how hard you have
both fought together. He had every chance and the best care from you and I'm
sure he knows it. I'm also sure you will know when he is too tired and wishes
to cross and can be there with him. As I went through with

Well, we had a few good hours last night just after he came home from
the vet's (that's when I took that picture of him). The vet had given
him cypro and I believe this may have affected him negatively as he
became restless as the evening went on. This morning he is up and
about, but his walk is
I absolutely think it is safe to give him the combo shot. The depo will not
actually kick in for a couple of days, and I know from experience with Simon
that you can give a dex shot two days in a row (I think I gave it to him three
days in a row when I thought he was dying the first time).
Thanks, Michelle...I had the same reservations about the cypro as I
haven't had much luck with it in the past...I, too, thought that
steroids would be enough to stimulate his appetite (and they did, he ate
well before the cypro kicked in)! Okay...I'll give my vet a call and
ask for the combo shot
Yes, 1/2 cc of each. That is what the vet who taught me about it does. But
I think the oncologist gave Simon 1 cc of each, since 1 cc is the normal dose
for giving each individually, and it certainly did not hurt him. But I think I
would try 1/2 cc of each first, especially since he just

As close together as they are needed. Towards the end it will be
every few days. But he might not need them that close together yet, or he
may need the combo shot now and a dex booster in a few days and not need depo
for a week. It kind of just depends on how he is doing. Basically, I would

Try Rescue Remedy. Are they all spayed/neutered? If not, that
might help.

Hi Michelle!
Hopefully you're online! I forgot to ask my vet this...but should I
give Ewok pred tonight (he did get the combo shot this afternoon)? I'm
guessing no as I think I recall you saying that the depo replaces
pred...but I just wanted to be sure!
Thanks,
Jen
I don't know if Cottoncan be
neutered, although I would like for him to be. The vet said with his lymph
nodes swollen, he is not a good candidate for anesthesia. But he has not
had any change in his condition. Any suggestions on how I might go about
asking if he can be neuteredsafely?
Sandy
No, don't give him the pred. The dex should be enough for the next 24 hours
or so, and the depo should start kicking in after that. How is he doing? If he
perks up and then falls again before the depo kicks in, or if he does not perk
up at all, I would probably try giving him some. But you

Hi Michelle! Thanks for that...so far, so good...I actually took him to
the vet's office for the shot and fluids only because he still had the
catheter in (fortunately, we live just around the corner from the
vet...literally 2 minutes away...and he is as comfortable as he can be
there. Everybody
