Prayers coming for Jewel! Yes, that's the way it hits them sometimes - often, I'd guess. They seem fine, then all of a sudden don't seem fine.Best of luck,GloriaOn Feb 9, 2006, at 5:41 AM, Sherry DeHaan wrote:Hi all yes it is me once again asking for prayers for one of my sanctuary furkids,Jewel
Kerry,
I'm adding your dad to my prayer list. I hope he
comes out of all this ok. It's crazy how life turns
on a dime and turns us all upside down. Please keep
us posted on his health.

Hey Karen,
Yes, you need to watch the diarrhea closely. Not the
actual diarrhea itself (LOL), but make sure it isn't
getting out of hand because kitty could become
dehydrated just like us humans from losing fluid.
Aren't the kittens so cute?! It's so funny how each
of them has their own

Could you check her temperature? If they have
fever, its normal in a sense that they dont want to move around
or not want to eat could some one take her to a vet if she does not get
better in a couple of days?

Hey Chris,I don't think I'd worry about the extra weight either. It drops so quickly if/when they do get sick. Your situation is why I just don't worry about testing that much anymore. If you're taking in strays/rescues/shelter animals, etc You never really know if that test means anything
Hideyo,
Bailey has been on the epogen now for 4 full weeks and his HCT has gone
from it's lowest of 15% to 27%, it actually got lower after he started
the epogen and this happens very frequently that the HCT goes lower and
then starts to rise. It generally takes about 3 weeks to see a

The vaccine is a yearly shot (does not stay in the system as long as the
rabies or distemper shots do, which last at least 3 years), and it is also not a
shot that is 100% effective (I think it is like 80% or so effective)...
I hope Buster is ok, and am rooting for him. The fact that he is
I may be wrong, but I don't think that's true. I think you can stop it if
they recover the ability to make red blood cells on their own.

I am glad to hear Ms. Clyde is responding to chemo. What protocol are they
using? Is it the same as for lymphoma?
Thanks,

I heard something about since epogen is
used under the condition where the body cannot produce any more red cell counts
on their own, once start relying on it, it will prevent them from producing red
cells on their own, therefore, you have to use it for the rest of their lives

That is fantastic news about her bloodwork. It sounds like the chemo is working. Go Ms. Clyde!tonya[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:Hideyo,I am

Hi Hideyo,
That is not true about not being able to stop epogen after starting
it, in fact a girl I know whose cat was kept alive by it for 2 years,
would lower his does according to what his numbers were. With him he
would go weeks in between doses when his numbers were good and as soon
No Hideyo,
That I know isn't true, it is possible they may never be able to
produce red cells and in that case you would have to usethe epogen
forever if you wanted to keep your kitty alive. But as my vet said with
Bailey if he becomes regenerative we would take him off the epo and if
