Another thing.. People desiring a pure-bred cat, dog can do "searches" on Petfinder/similar sites. It's amazing how many ofthese pure-breds also suffer the same fate as the "others". Shelters are way over crowded, more animals are being "dumped" than adopted, so the cycle continues.
