Papoose thanks you for the love and care you gave him. He died with a loving family, not alone and frightened. Re: fw from Robert Macdowell (herbalist) (litter, and my invention, the endless litter litterbox)
I've used SWheat Scoop and really liked it---until I got several boxes with weevils in them. This may not be a problem for everyone but it sure was for me. The people at SWheat Scoop were kind but the advise they offered doesn't fit with my idea of what is good for cats--use an insecticide on the litter. They maintained the litter was infested after it left their factory and also advised that it should never be kept near bird food (exactly where it is in groceries). I would love to be able to use the litter again but I just can't handle the insects and the cats weren't real happy with them eitherscratch the litter and up come lots of them. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow man. St. Francis - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org Sent: Wednesday, May 10, 2006 12:16 AM Subject: Re: fw from Robert Macdowell (herbalist) (litter, and my invention, the endless litter litterbox) There's a good wheat based scoopable too, called SWheat Scoop. Never tried it, but have heard good reviews from others (and I believe the clumps are flushable too). I like the idea of corn or wheat based litters, we KNOW those are relatively safe, I mean, they are ingredients in many cheaper cat foods! When they successfully make a GOOD absorbent rice litter I'll be first in line! LOL, I ran out of litter once, but had a big box of cream of wheat breakfast cereal... but it didn't absorb much. I think rolled oats might work though.. anyone got an old bag of quaker oats that's rotting in the pantry, for the sake of science? In the past, when I was really poor (this was years ago, mind you)I just went out into the yard and dug up some dirt to put in the litterbox. Sandy soil is MUCH preferable to good dirt, at least it doesn't turn into mud clods. I'm still trying to figure out my endless litter self-cleaning litterbox. Uses aquarium or pea gravel over a small 1/4 grid rabbit wire base over a dropped "waste" receptacle with built in plumbing so it actually all flushes away, pee goes right through it, then it self rinses it after the cat leaves the box with a non-toxic white vinegar "douche" (you know the floral scented vinegar kind) that is heated and sprays down over the "litter" from above. But the poo is an issue I'm still trying to figure out (solid poo anyways, diarrhea would just rinse away like pee). I would need to rake it somehow. Then I got the idea of using stainless steel BB type pellets instead of gravel. Make it a covered box, with a high powered electromagnet in the cover. After the cat leaves the box, the douche cycle comes on, then after that finishes, the electromagnet kicks on, and WHAM, all the BBs instantly pop up to the roof of the box, then the base uses a robotic arm to swing the rabbit wire base down, and the poop is dumped into the bottom "waste" receptacle. The robotic arm whacks it a few times on a brace built in for that purpose, to get any turds that are clinging to fall off the rabbit wire. Then it swings back up, locks back in place, the magnet shuts off, the litter BBs fall back down, the whole system flushes using the built in toilet-like plumbing that clears the waste receptacle, and it's ready for the next user. Re: Diabetic cat seems OK!!!!
I haven't been able to really read my emails lately but why was this cat going to be euthanized just because it was diabetic? My Katie is diabetic and she gets 3 units of insulin twice a day. It is a lifestyle change because you have to make sure your home at specific times to give her the insulin shots but I wouldn't have a kittie euthanized just because it was diabetic. Hi all, I apologize for being way off the topic of kitties. I really don't know on how to go about this. I need a Divorce lawyer in Colorado Springs or Denver area CO. Do any of you know of one in either places. My daughter called me her husband said he wanted a divorce out of the blue. That he didn't want to be tied down anymore and wanted his freedom. As you know he is military they are stationed at Ft. Carson, CO. He has done 2 tours so far to Iraq and getting ready to leave again soon. He told her this is what he wanted then 2 days later had papers served on her. He did not use an attorney he use the advise of some paralegals. There were no signs of a troubled marriage. My husband and I are in total shock over this. It is real and it is happening. Julie's husband Charleshas made her life total hell in the last week. He is trying to strip her of everything in the marrage. When she isn't home he comes in takes whatever he wants of value. She isn't home because shehas Drs. appointments and errands to do. Re: Way Off Subject of Cats....sorry!
If she really has no income and you think she is close to the poverty line, and not much assets, she should call the local legal aid program. You should be able to find it by doing a google search on her city or state and the term "legal aid" or "legal services." Otherwise she should call the National Lawyers Guild chapter in her state, if there is one, and ask if they can refer her to someone. They are a great group of very progressive lawyers and members often do sliding scale work. Also check to see if there is a Women's Bar Association in her state. They sometimes have referral lists for women lawyers whose work focuses on representing women in family law matters. Also, there are a few organizations devoted to providing legal help to military personnel and their families. You might do an online search to see if there are any near her that could either help her or refer her somewhere. If he has done 2 tours in Iraq I would assume he is dealing with some pretty tough emotional issues that might be making him act strangely. Which is not anything that would make you or your daughter feel better, but could be an explanation for seemingly unpredictable behavior. Michelle

jennifer, lysine is for ALL species that have herpes-virus problems. humans with recurrent cold sores use it, and critters with eye/mouth problems from herpes use it, as well. some vet assn's suggest that ALL cats receive a daily supplement of lysine. it is very inexpensive if you buy it in bulk powdered form--if you go to a place like bizrate.com or nextag.com, you can compare prices easily. Colorado divorce attorney w/military experience
Take a look at this one. He has experience with miltary divorces and is based in Colorado Springs..http://www.carlgraham.com/
Re: Way Off Subject of Cats....sorry!
I want to thank those that have responded your information is greatly appreciated and will be used for researching. I found he did this through a paralegal, so at this time he has no attorney working for him...yet! If he would have sat down with her and worked it out everything would have been done easily. It would have been cheaper in the long run. He snuck behind her back and paid for advise ($400) to do this. He has also cleaned out the bank accts. But by him filing she can't leave the state until the divorce is settled. Yet, he wants her gone a.s.a.p. but won't help her. She has no income. She has ask him to hold off on the papers that were filed so she can come home. He continues to help himself by going into the home when she isn't there and taking items of value. We will help her but we can't do a thing until she sees an attorney herself. Like getting a counter suit filed against him. She has a appt with female attorney friday at 10am that used to be the DA and has interest in cases like this. Hopefully she will help my daughter. She has met with one of the wives of the CO and SGTs they are suppose to talk with the husband sometime today. Guess we will see what happens. :( Terrie Mohr-ForkerTAZZY'S ANIMAL TRANSPORTSSIAMESE COLLIE RESCUEOwner/DriverCheck sites for available Siameses for adoption!http://www.tazzys-siameses-collies.petfinder.org/Click Here to Join WASHINGTON SIAMESE RESCUE Yahoo Group!http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wasiameserescuehttp://hometown.aol.com/tatorbunz/index.htmlhttp://hometown.aol.com/tatorbunz/myhomepage/petmemorial.htmlPetfinder.comAdopt a Homeless Pet!http://www.petfinder.com/http://www.felineleukemia.org/http://www.petloss.com/TAZZY'S ANIMAL TRANSPORTShttps://www.paypal.com/http://www.frappr.com/wasiameserescue
Re: Colorado divorce attorney w/military experience
Daughter has contacted him he wants a $5,000.00 up front. Geez, we can help her but we don't have that kind of money especially with what has happened to our home. ($12,000.00 damages) So we are filing a civil suit for Breach of Contract and Illegally moving my home without the proper permits. Otherwise this lawyer would be great for her! Re: Way Off Subject of Cats....sorry!
Oh lord! Your poor daughter. Thank God she has such wonderful supportive parents!!! Having been married to a military man for nearly 15 years, I have witnessed my fair share of cases like this and had my husband spaz out and pull similar stunts (though we have no children - just pets and property). There were always duty related emotional issues that initiated it. Your daughter needs to FILE FOR CHILD SUPPORT NOW! She does not have to wait for divorce proceedings.ALLmilitary pay and allowances (like housing) are considered income when it comes to calculating child support and alimony. Please tell her not to wait. Most child support offices will not drag their feet with military wives who do not work when their spouses abandon them. The military requiresenlisted to be responsible for financially supporting their families. A soldier who fails to support his or her family may face not only civilian legal problems, they also violate the punitive provisions of AR 608-99 and may face punishment underArticle 92of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. HE IS SCREWING HIMSELF BIG TIME! You can go to this site for specifics on child support and branches of the military: http://www.jagcnet.army.mil/JAGCNETInternet/Homepages/AC/Legal%20Assistance%20Home%20Page.nsf/0/d3feb7e9945926a9852569100056f8f9 She also needs to go to the Family Support Center, specifically the Family Advocacy department. Get them involved. Avoid the CO and wives at this point, move on to bigger and more powerful beings, who will file official reports, not just talk and sweep things under the rug. Keep us updated. I hope she has good luck with the attorney on Friday! ~ Rachel Operation Foster Felixwww.operationfosterfelix.orgSharing Our Hearts, Homes Litter Boxes "If you talk to the animals they will talk with you and you will know each other. I am sorry to hear about your daughter. How long have they been married? I know she would get child support but could she get allimony? I am sorry I don't know anything about military divorces. I am so sorry about Papoose. It hurts so to lose any of our little ones, doesn't it.JENI RECA [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I put Papoose feluk +to sleep today after he was running a 106.4 temp for the past 4 days and it wasnt going down he also was anemic and had a heart mummer and wasnt getting better. He was found on the streets of queens as a tiny little 5 week old kitten and brought to the shelter I work at. He came up postive on both test and I decided to adopt him instead of them putting him down. I amjust sad that we did not have more time with him. Thank you. I hope he was humanely euthed by now... or rescued and given medical care, one of the two (though I think euth would be kinder). I was hoping to get him/her on the CLS in the part where we pray for healing and comfort to those that are still with us.I did get several people saying they emailed about him, but did not get a reply yet. Re: Please add Papoose to CLS
Jeni,I'm sorry for your loss. Papoose was a lucky cat to find a family to adopt him with felv. So many felv cats are euthanized because of that stupid snap test. Take care, tonyaJENI RECA [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I put Papoose feluk +to sleep today after he was running a 106.4 temp for the past 4 days and it wasnt going down he also was anemic and had a heart mummer and wasnt getting better.
