I am so sorry I know exactly how you feel. I am going through the same thing with my Buck, but he is still holding on. I think he really wants to go be with his brother. Give Chema lots of love. I'll be praying for you. Sheila

Also ask if they have a fund to help pay when people can not afford to pay the bills. Most animal hospitals say they have these funds and get people to donate to them, but then do not advertise that money is available. Ask them if they have one of these funds for people to donate to. Re:
She has bad anemia, which can be from different things. Ask your vet to give her dexamethasone shots, because this will help if it is from lymphoma or an auto-immune condition. Also dexamethasone in case it is hemobartonella. Also Immuno-regulin, which you can order online from Revival Animal Health for $33, and there are articles about it on this group's website. Re: Help for Adri
From what you describe it does sound like anemia. The vet should be able to tell you what he thinks it is without charging you any more money. My Grace has been very sick in the past with anemic symptoms. We think her's was caused by Hemobartinella. Putting her on Doxycycline turned her around. Also, ask your vet for some Interferon to give Adri. Did your vet say she is dehydrated? You could give her subq (under the skin with a needle), fluids to keep her hydrated even if she's not eating or drinking enough. There is a support group for assist-feeding that could help you get some nutrition down her to hopefully help her make it through this. I'm so sorry about Adri condition and am praying she makes a comeback. I know how hard it is to watch them suffer and my heart goes out to you. We all completely understand not wanting to experience the heartbreak of Felv again. Try to think about how very important you have been in Adri's life, how if not for you she may never have gotten to live at all. Bless you for opening your heart and home to her. I know it hurts, and I'm so sorry. RE: Help for Adri
Anybody who has ever lost a pet for any reason feels terrible—my family always had cats & dogs who had somehow just shown up or that they got from someone who didn’t want them anymore. Whenever we lost one, as hard as it was, I always thought that if that cat or dog hadn’t found us they would have died a terrible death somewhere all alone….. If you and Adri hadn’t found each other, imagine how hard it would have been for her. You have given her some wonderful time, a lot of love, & the best care possible…. And in return she gives you love and all those great moments we all have with our pets… I have 5 cats now, 2 are pos,--when their time comes, I won’t regret any minute of my time with them. No matter how things go with Adri, she will always be in your heart… Chris [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Martha Alejandra Moreno Sent: Friday, July 22, 2005 5:03 PM To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org Subject: Re: Help for Adri I feel horrible. If she is not eating, could you get a sub-fluid bag from a vet and give her fluid yourself? Ask if they can sell you at their cost (which is very cheap) _ I think that hydration is critical especially if she is not eating.. Re: Prayers for Buck
Ah Sheila, I'm so sick about your boys. I know that you know that NONE of this is your fault in ANY way. I'm praying that Buck decides to stay for you, but you also know that if he doesn't, it's no reflection on you, or the loving home he has with you. The call of his brother and the lure of the blissful freedom the other side offers, may be too much for him to resist. I'm so sorry Sheila. I can't even think of any words of comfort at a time like this. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family. Re: Prayers for Buck
Sheila: My prayers are with you and your boy Buck. I know very well what you are going through and how you are berating yourself about Buck. Cats are so adept at hiding their illnesses until it is close to critical. Our boy Keuda never gave us a sign he was blocked until I touched him to pet him and he was burning with fever and staggered to the litter box. We too were grieving from two losses of our older FeLV babies only days apart. We like to think we are good cat moms and are always aware of what is happening with our babies, but sometimes as we are only human, we get consumed by something else (and the loss of a furchild is truly a great family loss). Don't spend time berating yourself, channel that energy into prayers and healing light for your baby. Sending prayers and healing thoughts. /mari On 7/21/05, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Hi Guys, I hope you all will pray for my boy Buck who is at the Vets tonight in critical condition. Re: Prayers for Buck
Prayers coming for Buck. Best of luck, Gloria At 10:18 PM 7/21/2005, you wrote: Hi Guys, I hope you all will pray for my boy Buck who is at the Vets tonight in critical condition. Buck is brother to Spanky who I lost suddenly last week. He is suffering from another blockage and this time the Doctor doesn't give much hope for recovery. Buck and Spanky were both felv + since kittens, but you would never know it to look at them. He is a 20lb sweet baby. Monday he started to mope around and stopped eating. I thought he was missing his brother. They were always together playing or sleeping, just like twins one always seemed to know what the other was thinking. I didn't realize he was sick, he hid it well. The vets around here close all day Wed so I couldn't get him to a doc until this morning. So now he may die because I didn't get him to a doctor sooner. I haven't had the chance to get over losing Spanky and now I may lose him too. I think that is why I didn't spot his illness. I guess maybe he wants to be with his brother but if he leaves me it will break my heart. Thanks for listening and please send good thoughts his way. Sheila
