Thank you, Wendy -

I have to say that having them back hasn't gotten old. :)
Every night I lay down with them, every morning I wake up to them, I'm just amazed.

Microchip, microchip.

Now I am concentrating on getting the rest of my life in order - got the Equifax year long identity theft flagger in place. Have to close my bank account and reopen it today. Going to get the cut-off system installed at noon. And the smell - oh the smell of the meat juices you guys! I'mhoping that the mechanic will have some advice on that. I cleaned it really well the day I got the car, but wow, as the tiny little molecules decompose, it's horrendous. I'm thinking that since it's organic material an enzymatic cleaner, like what are used on cat spray, might help. Either that or a bucket of gasoline and a match. I have to say that even with the hassle and smell, I consider this about the best outcome I could possibly have hoped for.

Why don't you think about replacing the whole seat? You might be able
to find one in a junk yard that's in good shape. Shouldn't your
insurance cover this? It is damage inflicted during the theft.

Leslie,
I know of 2 very effective enzymatic cleaners - anti-icky poo (yes, seriously, that's its name) and liqui-zyme. One of the vets at my clinic has successfully rid a SUITCASE of INTACT male spray with the liqui-zyme.

here are a couple of links:

www.antiickypoo.com

https://www.unitedlabsinc.com/usa/catalog/shopexd.asp?id=882
https://www.unitedlabsinc.com/usa/content/pdf/label/455label.pdf
these tell about the product (united 455 liqui-zyme)

https://www.shop.themicrobusters.com/splashPage.hg
this is the opening page of where to buy liquizyme - best price, truly - they charge 65-ish for a case (4 1 gal or 12 1qt) and the only other place I've seen it is at my vet clinic and theysell one of those quartbottles for nearly $40!!

https://www.shop.themicrobusters.com/quickSearch.hg

and here are the 2 options for purchasing it

I really think it's a great product and you can use it EVERYWHERE - laundry, carpets, catboxes, toilets etc etc etc

oh, haven't smelled the Sunshine recipe but the Cimarron smells fab:)Barb+Smoky the House Puma+El Bandito Malito"My cat the clown: paying no mind to whom he should impress. Merely living his life, doing what pleases him, and making me smile." - Anonymous

i useold flea collars (i know flea collars are bad, so i tear off the package onemonth before i put them on my cats). it's made of some kindof plastic (maybe rubber?)and a bit slippery, soit can surely slide open if u pull it. another good thing is: most of the timethe collarstays on cat's neck even if it slides open, coz it's not that soft and can therefore stay in the shape of a circle.Belinda [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I agree, I will microchip but I won't put collars on my guys. I'm going to sleep with a great feeling on my heart

What I learned

2006-10-18 Thread Leslie
I just wanted to share this with you, looking back on the things that I will/won't do differently in the future.

1. Microchip everything. I should microchip the car. Even with the slight snag with Satch's chip, I feel that they would have sorted it out and gotten him to me.

2. Put a bumper sticker on your car. I hate bumper stickers, but putting out a notice on a nondescript white car - which matches the description of 90% of cars out there, it seems, I'm going to put a pink one on there from a CD store back home. License plates numbers are hard to remember and easy to remove - bumper stickers aren't.

3. Collars. I don't think that having the cats in a carrier would have been better - in fact maybe worse, because they wouldn't be able to leave the car, but even as indoor cats, I see how collars are a good idea.

4. Cut off switch in the car. Who would want this car? I felt, and still feel to some extent, but whether or not I know the answer to that is not the point. I don't know who and I don't know why, I just know that they did and if there's a simple fix to prevent it from happening again, even if it probably won't ever in my lifetime, I am going to take it in order to feel safer.

5. Be a member of this list for life. Give back, be open, because you will probably never meet such a wonderful and supportive group of people your entire life.

Stay safe you all, I'm off to stiller waters - though I know that my tv-viewing public will be so sad by that. :)
