Patti, I've got to say, I'm very pleased you decided to start talking again. Thank you so much for the holistic tips. I hate medicating with traditional medicine, the stuff is usually so toxic. I'm a good nurse, but a very reluctant one. Up until I found myself facing FeLV, I hadn't had to

Nina, Thanks. I have been thru so much in the past year, w/ problems w/ my health etc. and although I kept "lurking" I was reluctant to start actively posting. (Due to my health related problems I'd withdrawn from "the world".) But I finally decided that maybe something I could pass on

Patti, I don't why it should be, but the most caring and spiritual people seem to be the most afflicted physically. Perhaps it has to do with taking on the woes of the world that others don't even acknowledge. Somehow all the hardship gets internalized, we have to figure out a way to better

We too have used the compounding method w/ flavoring. If it's being used just to control IBD, my holistic vet prescribed a homeopthic remedy, Arsenicum Album 30X. They are tiny tablets that dissolve very easy when food. I have great success using it when my old man has flare ups.

Thank you Patti, I'm always looking for alternatives that might help Gypsy. I told my vet about Penicillin G instead of the Flagil, she thought it was a good idea and prescribed it. Now I'm a bit sorry because it means injections for 14 days straight. I'll ask her about the Arsenicum Album.

Deanne, You can have the Metronidazole compounded into a liquid with flavoring added. There is also another form of Metronidazole that's not so nasty tasting, but I can't remember the name. I think it begins with a 'B' bens... bensa... Your vet should know what it is. My compound pharmacy
