Hey all,

are measures to ensure that no spam or viruses make it through to the list.
Please just ignore this note. Best wishes to all.

Hi James and all,
I hope all is well on the home front!
Yes, the list is quiet and I'm getting all replies when they are posted.
Your right no news is good news especially with this group of wonderful people and kitties.
I always have you all in my thoughts and prayers with this horrible disease.
I pray each day for a cure for this as well.
As promised I've said this since day one (I think about 11-12 years ago) I will eat a piece of cheesecake for celebration and in memory of those we loved & lost battling this disease when the cure is found.

Just so you know I hate cheesecake!

P.S.
Also, we had a good day on the 16th of this month as we celebrated the late Taz's life and memory with many.
All rescues and personal kitties got the extra pampered treatment this day.
We do this every year!

you have an FeLV Sanctuary. I was wondering for future
reference whether you are full or still have openings for
FeLV fur babies. I am caring for three with one on Imulan
and one receiving intravenous ascorbic acid weekly for his
lymphosarcoma and I also have more cats than I should
mention that are healthy and do not have the virus.

Because we are so full and our vet costs so significant
right now, I cannot take in any more FeLV cats that come my
way but we hear of them occasionally. My husband and I
would gladly try to scrape together the $500 on an
individual cat basis for any FeLV cats that would otherwise
be euthanized if we knew you could take them . It would be
good to have your contact information for use in the future.

Thanks, and God bless you for what you do for these
unfortunate but very lucky felines.

Re: [Felvtalk] ADMIN: testing the list

2009-09-18 Thread gary
Looks like the list is working.

I have a question/info for you. On the web site it talks about a number of
different treatments that have and are, being tried for feline leukemia.
One of those that looked especially encouraging is Staph Protein A. My vet
had some from his vet school about 10 years ago and found that it really did
help with cases of anemia.

I have done some looking and even though Staph Protein A is readily
available from a number of places, is not terribly expensive and does work,
you can't get it. It is not approved as a treatment for any animal or
human, it is strictly for research only. Pretty much that means unless you
are a legitimate biological researcher, they won't sell it to you. It seems
a shame that there is a product with a known ability to help and we can't
get it.

If anyone on the list knows of a source for it, please contact me off list.

Thanks,
Gary gcru...@centurytel.net

2008-09-01 Thread Lynne
Tonya, I thought about getting a second cat for Snowball, especially as she
was having some problems the first week Lennie had to be let go, but with
what we've been through this past year it's amazing we even have her.
Everytime we lose a cat my husband swears this is the last and it never is.
I'm gonna just do what I had planned to do, contribute financially as often
as I can to the shelter we got Snow from. She's a very demanding, needy and
bossy little cat. She might not like another invading her space. She's
just so darn sweet and cute though.

plan a short time later to do everything I could to adopt Snowball, a
rescued persian who had been abused and neglected. When I finally told my

her the day we picked her up. He was immediately in love with her. I had
hoped she would be "my" girl because the male cats we had owned, including
Boo, always seemed to favor my husband and son. Snowball started out being
my little baby but like the rest of them seems to have become her dad's
girl. I don't get it. They all have loved me but when it's a choice of a

All is well here. Just spending a lot of quality time with Snowball this
weekend. Usually on weekends I work harder than I do at my regular job, but
not this labor day weekend. I thought of something funny this morning.
When we lost Boo and I thought we'd never recover, I sneakily started to
plan a short time later to do everything I could to adopt Snowball, a
rescued persian who had been abused and neglected. When I finally told my
husband I was selected to be her mom he wasn't exactly happy until he saw
her the day we picked her up. He was immediately in love with her. I had
hoped she would be "my" girl because the male cats we had owned,
including
Boo, always seemed to favor my husband and son. Snowball started out being
my little baby but like the rest of them seems to have become her dad's
girl. I don't get it. They all have loved me but when it's a choice
of a
lap to sit on, it's Bob's first then mine.

The two new kittens are doing well and are FeLV-. You should have
seen the high fives at the vets' office when the results came back on
both of them!!

Have a good weekend.
