I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about Duncan, that's so hard, Laura.
And right on top of your 18-year-old. What was his or her name?
Try not to beat yourself up. I've been there too, with Caramel, the
first of mine to pass away. I realized later that he'd been unwell for a
while and I hadn't been fully aware of it. I made the same promise too,
and now I leave nothing to chance either, but I figured it took Caramel
to show me the way.
