RE: Hello everyone, long time since I've been here
I got my Tucson when she & her brother fell down an ac vent on the roof of a garden apt my parents were staying in (Tucson). The mother stayed on the roof with her other kittens for 1 week in 100 degree weather howling all night until we got them out. The manager punched holes in three apts to get them but agreed to go into the vacant apt below only after I threatened to call the local TV station-also told them that if the kittens died they would have to tear all the walls down to get rid of the smell (gruesome, I know). By the way, the minute we got the second kitten out, the mother took her kittens & left. I tried for days to find her but was unsuccessful. She knew they were safe & had done her job better than many human mothers! Jenn, Hello, and welcome back to the list. I've been a member for about a year. What kind of rescue was/is this? No one is UTD on rabies? I don't care which direction I have to go to pick them up at the VT border, I just don't want to drive out of state. My main hook now is that in order for any of the volunteer transport services to help with this, they HAVE to be UTD on rabies, and have a current certificate. So now I'm here in Vermont, trying to find a vet in NJ who can go to the location, and give 3 cats rabies shots on short notice for under $40. Anyone know of a rescue-friendly kind hearted vet in NJ who may be willing to help? And what is so sad about all this is that none of the cats are UTD on rabies, so it looks like it will be almost impossible to get them rehomed out of state without a miracle (or a little rule-bending on the part of some transport lists). I had a different email address back then. Anyways, it's me and I'm back. No, none of my other cats have FELV, but I just offered to foster FOUR FELV+ cats (which means I'll probably have them for the rest of their lives, because we all know how hard it is to place these guys) from a cat rescue that is being shut down, called Cat Camp. They also need to place 30 feral cats, 50 healthy adoptable cats, and 6 FIV+ cats, or everyone will be euthanised next week. RE: Hello everyone, long time since I've been here
It breaks my heart to think of any of these guys will be euthanized if they can’t find a home within such a short time frame – I myself have about 55 cats at my premises, so it will be very difficult adopt more myself – but I would like to help in anyway I can – could you tell me where you (and these kitties) are located at? Good luck and I am praying for safety and wellbeing of all of these kitties. Jenn2~ How is Bazil doing? I am sure that this Bazil is the "same" one from a few years backI remember reading his story on another list, AOL I think... I sent out a case of AD for him Sorry, I do not remember his guardian's name. Bazil, if this the same one, really was fortunate to have such a nice young woman give him the care he desperately needed.. Patti
