Most positive cats may require a little more time to get over any illness that a non positive cat needs. Giving the doxy for an extra week or two is better than having to start all over not to mention that Tomi is going to feel like crap that much longer. I just went through this with

Hey Cassandra, Since the doxy is so important in treating the hemobart, how long was Tomi on it? It doesn't seem like he's had enought time on the doxy, especially if he did test positive for hemobart. Here is a good article on treating hemobartonella, but it says three weeks for the doxy. I

Two points isn't really a big deal during treatment (17 is low, but not dangerously low), especially since you stopped the pred right before that test. Most hemobart cases DO respond, sometimes it just takes a month or so to see the number go up. Have patience and faith (and it wouldn't hurt to
