As it turns out, there are two NTFS read-write solutions for Mac --
one fast and simple solution you must pay for (Paragon), and one slow
and somewhat more complex (requires Terminal commands) freeware
solution.

Hi, Darcy. You might want to look into a product called MacDrive. It
is a Win program that allows you to see any Mac volume (including USB
and Firewire volumes) while you are booted in Windows. My colleague
swears by it, and he doesn't speak that highly of much software that
he uses.

I think the only way to get the effect you want is to use a trick.
You could create an empty, zero-width measure (use blank notation to
remove the whole-measure rest) at the beginning of the part and put
the treble clef in the next measure.
