If what you are after is really big time signatures on a score, the thing to do is to go to Options > Document Options > Fonts > Notation, select Time, and choose Engraver Time at size, say, 36. If you are using speedy entry (you didn't say), try this: hit "option" and the number 3 and enter the first note as an eighth note triplet, then put the cursor back on that note and change it to a quarter note. Finale assumes that the first note value you choose is the value of the triplet
