I have got a large full orchestra score which
was imported from a MusicXML file into 2011b.
When I want to change the time signature from 4/4
to 2/4 with rebar of the measures**, Finale 2011b crashes
(Win 7, 64 bit system).
I already did File maintenance and Check durations,
but it still crashes.
Dear all,
I combined four files (i.e. movements of a suite) asking that they keep the
separate movements, This workd fine for the score but the parts do not
include the movement headings - they appear as one long piece. Am I
missing something?
Cheers,
Lawrence

An off topic question that maybe some of you who are more technically savvy
than I am may be able to answer.
For some time I have used my main computer, running WinXP to make mp3 disks
which I can them play in the mp3 cd player in my car without problems.
When I do the same thing on my laptop

Your movement titles are page-attached text. It is unlikely that your parts
will extend as many pages as your score. You should reassign titles to be
expressions that attach to the first measure of each movement. There may be
some positioning needed but they will be present in each part.

Titles are Page attached. You need to make sure you measure attach the Titles
via the frame attributes window in the Text Edit menu. From there you should
only have to do minor adjustments if any for the title for each movement.

I tried to attach to the frame attributes and wound up with a problem I had to
solve the other way. I probably missed something?
I usually have to use the expressions and add them to the parts after breaking
the link to the score for that particular expression. I just had to go through
this
Why does Finale only allow 44.1 kHz as the sampling rate for Audio Plug-ins?
Even the Garritan Aria player changes to 48 kHz (or whatever your settings)
when you use it outside of Finale.
Why the limitation, after all these years?
And why is this info so hard to find in the manual?

Hi all,
Can I get a little help on linked parts.
I have an orchestral score that's done with all linked parts done.
But I need extra parts -- horns 8va down, doubled parts split into individual
parts, etc., alternate parts for other instruments for rehearsal, etc.
I'd like to duplicate or

Whoa! It's still there! With all the talk about linked parts, I thought it was
gone. And it extracts parts that look like the linked ones. Exactly what I
needed.
Thank you!
I don't often miss stuff, but when I do...
Yeah, might be easier to just extract those parts into a separate document.
BUT, there is a way to do it, assuming the score is set up correctly.
Generate a new part. You can then define the voices to show the correct 1st
or 2nd part (again, assuming the music was entered correctly). Assign the
Thanks for that, Ryan. This is very good info for another occasion.
The only tricky business is the large number of a2 sections. They show up only
in one voice as they're entered in only one layer.
This is an older score from 2000 imported into F2011 for publication, and I
need all new parts. I
Ah yes. Organizing the score so that a2 sections appear correctly is
tricky. Sometimes I duplicate the music into Layer 2 and apply a staff
style to hide layer 2 in the score. It's a pain, but it gets the job done.
