[Finale] Export To Audio

Glen, This sounds to me like what happens when there’s a forbidden character in the file name. Do you by chance have a slash or a colon in the name of the file? David Wolfson davidwolfsonmusic.net > On Nov 5, 2015, at 1:00 PM, > wrote: > >

It may not have been created at all -- that's the issue. I had a similar bug. It appeared to do something, gave no error message, but created no file (if my memory is correct). I cannot remember exactly how this was resolved, but we eventually found a combination of parameters for the audio

In my experience, the audio file gets saved WITH THE SAME NAME! as the Finale file, including the .xmus extension! You probably don’t notice, because you hit “Save” before closing and the audio gets overwritten with the actual .xmus file. Save it with a different name, with a very short

I need to export a Finale file (2014d) to audio. I’ve got the file the way I want it. I click on the menu item Export>Audio File. I’m taken to the finder window to choose where I want the file saved. I save as an .aiff file. The playback window runs through all the measures. And then … nothing.

I run win7 64-bit on an AMD. I don't have any of those issues with Finale. Ironically, sometimes my machine *will* run really slowly for unknown reasons - it will take *minutes* to open a file, etc. At those times, my 6-core CPU is reported as being 97% free time, so I have no idea

I did some additional testing this evening with the System Monitor turned on. There is no memory problem. It never pages at all, and there is always more than 3GB available. It is the CPU that goes through the roof. I tried a moderately complicated score under several conditions. This

I rarely have trouble with audio export (wav). I'm on Finale 2011 Windows XPSP3. The display continues unless I change focus to another application. Then it stays in its previous state until the file is completely saved. I've observed that the process has several stages: the initial 'scan'

I don't think the speed of my machine is an issue. It is a dual core AMD running Win7 64-bit, with 6GB of physical RAM. There are certainly faster machines around, but this one is feast enough. The first 75% of the file is generated very quickly, then it grinds to a halt. I had this same

I am also running win7 64bit, but I have 16GB of RAM in there. I don't think *that* would make quite as much of a difference as we are seeing, though. I suppose it is possible that with windows, plus finale and stuff running, you are hitting a point where your memory is full and it
