Maybe these font symbols helps you:

It's the opposite of the fall off, but usually the fonts have both symbols.

Bill Duncan's Articulation font is included too, though it's probably 
not the best place to start with.
I'd recommend looking at Aruvarb (i.e. Bravura for Finale) if you're 
looking for a clean classic style.
For a handwritten look I'd probably use the Jazz or Swing font.

Take a look at this and see what you think.  The chords were entered as I 
described.  Look closely (try zooming in) at the rhythmic and slash notation.  
Beats native Finale by a country mile.  There are certain setting necessary to 
achieve this look, but it’s not that hard.

Hi Martin,

Don’t know what’s in the ugly Jazz font — haven’t looked in a while, but Bill 
Duncan’s FP articulations and custom smart shapes have what you need to look 
appropriate with an engraved font.  Those can be found from Nick Carter at NPC 
Imaging.  Don’t know what I’d do without them.  Bill’s fonts make chords, 
slashes and rhythmic notation look elegant as well.

Glad to do what I can to help if you decide to buy them.
