I'm working from F07, so you're screens may be different, but I'm
wondering if you made changes to staff assignments in the instruments
window. On my system, there is a window drop down from the menu bar
which has a choice for the instruments window. That window has two
choices for view.
Hey Jari ... I'm busy digesting your suggestion. It's an area of the
application with which I'm not familiar. I'm going to have to mess
around with it for a while, I think. Thanks for sending the info ...

It's very simple:
If you have dedicated a layer for your cues, go to the instrument
list and MUTE that layer or send it to a silent/unused midi channel.

Mac should make no difference. If you've actually set the key
velocities to zero, then they won't play back, so it's pretty
Dean, if you are using GPO and/or Human Playback, you may have to edit
the playback window to incorporate the midi commands. HP may be
ignoring them. If you can't find what I mean I'll dig in myself and get
more location-specific.

Hey, David, John and Ray ... such a wealth of knowledge on this list.
Many thanks the idea of muting a layer (which I did, in fact,
have available) worked like a charm. Now I understand why, when I
used the cue plugin, it defaulted to layer Four. Big Duh on my
part ... thanks again.

In the past, I've generally allocated a layer for non-playing
notation, but I tend not to do that as much. I would do one of these
things, depending on the length of the cue:

Thanks David that should do what I want. I only have about 16 bars
of cued, then the staff goes back to normal play.
