Sorry to trouble the list about a general question, but I am above my head
here. I would like to install a python package from http://www.diffpy.org/
called pdfgui that is written in python. It uses python to install itself and
always ends up with a lipo error lipo: can't open input file:
I am having trouble updating gd2. When I try the upgrade process, I

the install, fink downloads automake1.11 and starts the config

A few weeks or so ago, I remember installing openssh via fink on my

the openssh

error seems to userauth_pubkey: disabled because of invalid user.
Does anyone have any idea how this can come about -- a google of the
line was basically dry.

I know this is a little off topic, but there are not so many venues

Thanks all for helping me track down the problem. As you suspect it
was a path issue. Quite a while ago now, I found that fink's copy of
teTeX was breaking my TeXShop installation as I was using TeXLive
with TeXShop and the higher precedence of fink's version caused a

this is not the case, fink is not behaving as expected as the cause
of my problems was pretty clearly moving the fink order in my path

What version of the gettext-tools package do you have installed?
Does reinstalling it ('fink reinstall gettext-tools') solve the
building of the popt package?

Well I mentioned that autoreconf seemed to be different on the PPC
and the Intel macs I had. Upon checking another Intel (Mac Pro) I
found that his also had version 2.60 of autoreconf. I note that in
trying to build popt, I end up with errors due to an undefined symbol

On a MacPro running 10.4.10, I am having some trouble installing an
update to gnuplot. I have deleted my previously installed LaTeX
installation to see if I could complete the build process (thinking
it was a conflict of some sort between tex distributions), but the
same problem persists.
