Yes, for the quake game, because it is a multiplayer game that takes a dedicated server, there will always be some setup, but I think that is if you want to display/host the game. The combination of all browser technologies into one runtime is something that may be compared to Flash, but comparing HTML 5 and Flash is not applicable. Re: [Flashcoders] iPhone viable solutions???
at sxsw, the adobe guy giving the flash talk was getting pummelled by the audience about flash's absence from the iShiny and his eventual response (so i reliably informed) was 'we make tools' i take this to mean that when the plugin has outlived it's usefulness, they'll already be exporting to the canvas tag or whatever is the natural successor to it. At the moment, the canvas tag can't keep up with flash in terms of performance (and i've no idea about how it deals with interactivity) but eventually it will - maybe then, it'll be within adobe's best interest to roll out flash content to that instead of it's current .swf format. maybe someone will come up with a way of displaying .swf files within html5 (canvas or svg) like the proof of concept javascript engine that came out a little while back best a On 30 April 2010 08:22, Paul Andrews wrote: > On 30/04/2010 00:23, Karl DeSaulniers wrote: > >> Hello everyone, >> Your thoughts on this idea.. and this may not be the best way about it, >> but maybe Adobe could get CS5 or CS6 to be able to utilize/open a base Obj >> C iPhone app template, >> retaining the original Obj C base (approved by apple) and let you add your >> content, >> then compile the content to work with that approved Apple iPhone template? >> The developer would just have to work with certain parameters set by the >> template resources I would think. >> Then Apple and Adobe can start a playing nicely and start a whole iApp >> template resource that provided everything for us developers. >> You could go and sign up as a developer with Apple or Adobe and utilize >> templates they have that allow you to use CS5 or CS6, >> whichever is the most current at the time. >> >> Adobe gets on iPhone and Apple gets to control the templates to an extent >> of performance. Hello everyone, Your thoughts on this idea.. and this may not be the best way about it, but maybe Adobe could get CS5 or CS6 to be able to utilize/open a base Obj C iPhone app template, retaining the original Obj C base (approved by apple) and let you add your content, then compile the content to work with that approved Apple iPhone template?
