i try to read SPI flash from a bricked wifi access point. For that purpose I
have unsoldered the 4M SPI flash, soldered it onto an ssop-breakout board where
I connected it to an Arduino-Nano.
I use flashrom out of my ubuntu distribution, and compiled serprog-duino myself.

supports only the GD25Q32(B).
I can read this ROM with --force option, but no write :(
What can i do? Whitch other options exitst for me to write to the DIP8-chip?

I cannot get flashrom 0.98 to run natively on macOS Sierra, but when I pull
it through to a VM with Ubuntu and flashrom 0.92, it works. Error on macOS
is "Unable to reset FTDI device (USB device unavailable).", but the FTDI
cable is in fact plugged in,
syntax to allow the user to specify a region and corresponding file,
and we also added a "--fast-verify" mode to only verify regions which
were targeted. So for example you could do "flashrom -p
-l -i region:filename.bin --fast-verify --ignore-fmap

for the element for SST25LF080A the field feature_bits needs to be do modified
.feature_bits = FEATURE_WRSR_EWSR.

Here's my summation,
1) programmer is identified correctly
2) rom spi chip is identified correctly
3) rom spi chip seems erase correctly
4) verify fails
This most likely means the write failed.
All bytes from the read of the rom spi chip are 0xFF.
There is also the message
the commands EWSR and WRSR must be sent to the sst25lf080a.
How this should be done so that the code works for other chips I leave to the
people at flashrom.
Still a mystery is how the code works for the sst25lf040a chip and not the
sst25lf080a chip.

We're attempting to update our device using flashrom v1.1-rc2 and it does not
update successfully. Attached is the verbose report as requested by the output.
The board we're using is based on the DFI KU171/173, with Intel Kaby Lake
i3-7100U CPU, Intel 100 Series Chipset Family LPC

I’ve got flashrom v1.1 (via brew on MacOS X) and a Buspirate v4 running the
v7.0 community firmware. I’ve hooked it up to a Winbond W25Q64FV. I’m fairly
confident that it’s hooked up correctly, because if I use a terminal program to
talk to the BP, I can set it into SPI mode, turn on the power
in half.
But I would like to know what the *optimal* BP firmware version is (and where
to get it). I want this flashrom / BP4 combination exclusively for this job
(burning flash chips), so it doesn’t necessarily have to be good at anything
else.

I am attempting to install libreboot onto an old macbook while following a
guide. I am having an issue where the ./flash command is giving me an error in
terminal saying that it is not a valid command. Other commands I give to
flashrom work fine, but ./flash does nothing.
