you could spend a little time fiddling with the XML file so

If we're already talking about engines: has anyone looked at the 747
fuel consumption yet? The 747-yasim model seems to need way too much
fuel. Even if I increase the fuel fraction to 1.0 in the XML file I'm
unable to fly the plane across the Atlantic
Can anyone tell me what the confstatX directories I keep getting in my

I know what you are saying, but this may not be possible if the path
needs to be set systemwide for a multi-platform installation. Or if
it goes in the preferences.xml file or something like that. We really
could use a universal, platform independent delimeter in
as long as you use FlightGear everyday. Probably I don't represent the
'average' FlightGear user so my opinion might not be everyone's. Still I
have to say that for _me_ it's far to complex.
I don't see FlightGear as a 'game' with thousands of views but more as a

I have also a question:
Why do we use /usr/local/Flightgear as directory and not
/usr/local/games/Flightgear ?
I would prefer /usr/local/games/Flightgear for everything,
the scenery, the game data and the runtime binary
I've thought in terms of a server that could manage a high volume of
aircraft. It would send back the locations of only the
closest/visible aircraft and not the entire set.
We had a so called bubble surrounding the aircraft in Falcon. And we had
2 types of units: aggregated and deaggregated.
