I think I mentioned that this "prefs" relates to the last time a ran FG this
happened to be fgv098a (successfully) NOT fgv099 (crashes) I will run FG099
when I get a chance and send you the FR099 "prefs" file.
This does raise the issue though of both versions using the same "prefs"

Fred, I don't understand what you're suggesting.
I think you are suggesting I post a file somewhere or possibly download a
file from the 'net and use that instead of what ever might be used
currently on this machine?

I can only admit that commenting out some lines of my Saitek X45
joystick file *incompletely* causes FlightGear 0.9.9 (Windows) to stop
booting without any error message - just crashes. I was just curious
about the problems one of the user discussed here.

I have posted extensive details of this problem under the users forum but it
has been suggested that it would serve the greater cause by advising the
developers.
FACTS:
Platform:
Intel p4,1.8Ghz
128M ram
32Mbyte GF2 MX 32Mbyte card
Windows 98me (ok stop laughing)
fgv098a works fine.
