I have another question.
I asked about sharing chapter between a number of books
2 of these common chapters are Appendix chapters in 2 books, and regular
chapters in another.
In order for the ToC to work the way we want (the words Appendix B will

When you store binary files (like FM files), most source control systems
can't compare/diff those, so they have to store a complete new copy of
the file each time it changes. That's why a lot of source control system
admins don't want you checking in your docs -- you eat up massive
Some really good answers from others here. I agree with you, though,
that making a separate set of templates for A4 would be a major time
commitment. It would also lead to all sorts of management problems.
Trust me on this, I *know*.

Hi!
Scattered through my current book I have important terms that I'd like
to collect into a glossary. These terms are marked with a special
character tag that only they use. Does anyone out there have a great

anyone who prints your work won't lose any of it. Unless you really need your
users to be able to print at 100% with good-looking
One size fits all almost never goes. but if you are trying to make a
template that will fit both Letter and A4 pa?er sizes, you should bear
in mind to fit to the shortest of both sides, long and wide. A4 is

Convert that into inches
We have a set of user guides, with up to 4 chapters which are in common.
Obviously it is sensible to have only one copy of these chapters which
will be referred to in each book.
At the moment, our directory structure is as follows:
Each book has its own directory, with all relevant files in, and
