FM10 special character

Ok, I have been following this thread and I want to understand something: I did NOT go to File > Utilities > Character Palette after starting FM10, but in my Task Manager, it does show CharacterMap.exe (FM 10, Win7, 64 bit). Are you saying that this is the expected behavior? Thanks, TVB -

That's interesting, because I've got Frame 10 running right now, and CharacterMap.exe is NOT a running process for me. Examining maker.ini shows some settings for it, but none seem to control when it starts. Is it definitely not starting until you start Frame 10, or is it running before you start

Thanks to the kind people who directed my nearsighted eyes to what I over looked. There is an option already in the maker.ini file for unicode text paste - and it works indeed :-) Thanks again! regards Bj?rn

The rightward arrow is Unicode U+2192. The first thing you need to do is choose a font that that character. At least in Windows 7, Arial, Courier New, and Times New Roman all have it. You can use Windows' (not FrameMaker's) Character Map utility's Advanced View to check other fonts. If necessary,
