Reason being that I've received occasional comments about the very tight spacing and even I admit that it _does_ seem a bit too close. I'm thinking perhaps a point or two lower would suffice. If you don't see it the same way, leave it alone. Remember, as I often tell folks, being a tech writer

As Les Smalley mentioned on the list, use Numeric Underline instead of Underline. It's an option in the Character Designer. That brings the underline down slightly. Shmuel Wolfson Technical Writer 052-763-7133 On 02-May-14 3:34 PM, Ken Poshedly wrote:

Using a backslash (\) in Hypertext marker

I need to create a hypertext marker for Open Document Fit to Page. The problem occurs when I enter the path for the document in the marker window. The characters \D are replaced by a double dagger and \F are replaced by the florin symbol. I've looked at Adobe's documentation on hypertext

A few issues here: First, FrameMaker is actually behaving exactly as designed when you type the strings you mention. When you are in the marker window, you are typing in a dialog box, and FrameMaker follows the rules that are documented in Appendix A: Typing in dialog boxes in the FrameMaker

Normally, a backslash followed by another character is treated as an escape mechanism for the subsequent character. So, \Dabc for example, gives you a double dagger before the characters abc, etc. This is completely normal behavior from FrameMaker's perspective. If you truly want a path to
