I followed the advise of David Spreadbury : just renamed the file from .mif
to .fm and opened them in FrameMaker, then used the command Save all open
files and saved them as .fm. The rest is just clicking OK and Overwrite
, however. The most

consider a component or module to be.

placement, which normally is at the destination of the bookmark.
In Acrobat it is a different story, and I verified this on a PDF.
On the Properties page (File Properties), under the Initial View tab:

Sounds like you may have copied cross-references from an original location to a
new location. This brings along with it the original source ID marker. You
can't have more than one unique ID marker, else you get wierd cross-reference
issues.

I see the same, or very similar, behavior running 7.2.
Sometimes the pilcrow for a tag changes from 10pt to about 14pt Bold.
Reapplying the tag fixes the problem. This doesn't appear to have any affect on
generated PDFs. It seems to be a display issue within Frame. I am using
Structured Frame,
the installer on a local disk, and launched it to
install FM9 on that same disk. This was the solution, i.e. don't launch
installer from a DVD but from the local disk itself.

Jeremy's suggestion is a good one. Create a separate directory tree with no
spaces in any folder or file names, source files or graphics.
All of my help files are create in that fashion and I have only found one small
issue, happens to be with CHMs, but it has a very easy workaround.

I have a user guide. All images (screenshots) are in a specific folder.
Some of those images will be updated.
I need to go through all the pages to check whether those images fit
properly in the frames.
Is there a way to list which images filenames are in which files in a book
in FM7
they be graphics or text

reverse order. Keep in mind, most search algorithms work on the ASCII code of

I don't know whether you can do this in FM8, but usually the workflow for
translating FM documents (and updated FM documents) in the localization
world has a totally different workflow.
We usually convert FM into MIF then into some format editable under a
translation memory
