Hi, guys...hope this isn't out of line for this list, but at times
like these when everyone says network, network, netwiork, I'd like to
reach out to the writers in the NY metro area.
Some of us are out of work and looking, and some of you are working

You can use cross-references, which is the easiest means. The option
for cross references and other forms of hyperlinking are available on
the Special menu. FrameMaker's online Help has detailed info on how to
use these features.

Do you understand the difference in FM between hypertext and

Hi, seems Visio graphics are the flavour of the month :)
Just to summarise what has been said on the list over the last couple of weeks.
1. Visio uses an internal file format and is not a graphics format, as such
2. Visio native files are best not used in FM
3. The Visio files then need
You mean in general or from Frame? What specifically do you want to know?
I use pdfLaTeX pretty much daily, from time to time ps2pdf.
No issues in using them. pdfLaTeX is run from a text editor and ps2pdf is
normally run from a command line. I use them with files generated from

Yeah. I took a double take on what Art said too.
So does that mean that Adobe have buggered up the pdf output engine? Or is it
that the nested pdfs already contain RGB colour definitions and those are
carried through to the final output, in the same way that eps acts as a
wrapper for the postscrip

Is there a shortcut for changing the indentation of a graphic within an

lots of paragraph tags, and we will all have to manually modify the indentation
of almost all of our graphics - unless you happen to know of a fr
Just to clarify, we like our graphics aligned with the text in the paragraph
above (not centered on the page).

Hi Marta
I guess the anchoring position of these anchored frames is "Below Current
Line"? In that case, I think the only option you have is a Framescript which
changes the width of the frame and the "offset from left" setting of the
graphic within the frame.
An other (and better) option is to put

Hi all,
We want to be able to include a color image logo on the first page of
each chapter. We do not want the image to be printable from the pdf
file. Is there any way in which this can be done?
We're using FrameMaker 7.x, Acrobat 5, 6, and 7 (but we mostly print

Hello Shlomo,
That's what it was! There was a character format in front of the
<$pagenum> building block on the reference page, and it served no
purpose (applying a font that should have been specified in the

John,
If I may suggest, you may want to join Linkedin and start a local NY metro
group. It's a great way to network and the individual groups can include
calendars and such to help facilitate more focused, in person, networking.
Doubt I'd be of much help to you, as I'm in Ohio, but i'd be happy

"When I use Save As to PDF my books, whole chunks of text disappear in
the
PDF file. It appears to be totally random. For instance, one table will
have several blank rows blank followed by competed rows."
