Thanks for reporting these issues.
1. Master page support to have boilerplate footer in each CHM topic.
We are working on this and it will be available in next update soon.
2. Glossary options as tool tip, etc,
FM 12 support 4 types Hyperlink, popup, tooltip, expandi
Reason being that I've received occasional comments about the very tight
spacing and even I admit that it _does_ seem a bit too close. I'm thinking
perhaps a point or two lower would suffice.
If you don't see it the same way, leave it alone.

As Les Smalley mentioned on the list,
use Numeric Underline instead of Underline. It's an option in the
Character Designer. That brings the underline down slightly.

A few issues here:
First, FrameMaker is actually behaving exactly as designed when you type the
strings you mention. When you are in the marker window, you are typing in a
dialog box, and FrameMaker follows the rules that are documented in "Appendix
A: Typing in dialog boxes" in the FrameMaker

Normally, a backslash followed by another character is treated as an "escape"
mechanism for the subsequent character.
So, "\Dabc" for example, gives you a double dagger before the characters "abc",
etc. This is completely normal behavior from FrameMaker's perspective.
