With the dichromate bleach, I mix it with the exhausted developer prior to any disposal; this converts it from the hexavalent chromium(VI) ion, which is very water soluble and highly toxic, to the trivalent chromium(III) ion which is insoluble and while toxic, is much less harmful. The

Hypo clear is pretty harmless. I wouldn't suggest making a martini with it but it's really just sodium sulfite, the same stuff they put on the salad bars to keep the lettuce from wilting. Kodak adds some bisulfate into it to keep the pH down in acidic water, but that's pretty harmless too. Used

Kodak used to have a nifty little booklet on the subject. Basically, if you are running B and you're using typical developers and nothing wierd the thing you have to worry about is silver-laden hypo, which you probably should be getting silver recovery on anyway if you're doing any quantity.
