Anyone who's using FreeBSD with a laptop: I'm having problems with my hard drive spinning down (sleeping) every 30 seconds. Is that something that's controllable in FreeBSD? I don't see it in BIOS. Is it a kernel thing? This thing sleeps and wakes, sleeps and wakes about every 15 seconds.

Yes! I've got a great method I can recommend for mpg123. My BSD box has no monitor, no XFree, but it has 80 gigs of MP3s and a great set of speakers hooked up to it. I ssh into it from whatever room in the house I'm in and use one of these commands. (Aliased from ~/.bashrc) # MP3 alias play
