I do not know if this will be of any help or not, but you might want to
check it out. This is the URL where I locate
re exactly what 'portindex' and 'portindexdb' do, since there
is no manual for them. I assume that there are no command line switches
either.

I have been experiencing the same sort of problem using an old Compaq
5140 w
shutdown' in the
'/etc/rc.shutdown' file.
Since everything seems to be workings correctly, I assume that I have done
this correctly. If there is a better way to do this, I would appreciate
receiving the information.

I had the exact same problem recently. I reported it as a bug to KDE.
That bug report is still open as far as I can tell. It appears to be a
randomly occurring phenomena.

BTW, are you running any AV software? If so, and assuming it is current,

name, although it does for the other two computers, It lists the IP as
192.168.0.4 as well as it's MAC address. Why is it not displaying a host
name? It should, shouldn't it.
