Has anyone experience a PXE boot problem on amd64 (Dell PowerEdge 850,

I've tried kernels, mfsroot, and pxeboot from 6.4-RC2, 6.3-PLX, 7.1-B2

I've verified stock /boot/device.hints, /defaults/l

Is there any situation in which dmesg should give no output whatsoever?
Currently, my FreeBSD machine (RELEASE-6.0) isn't reporting anything
at all when I call up dmesg. It has been on for quite some time, and to
the best of my knowledge there isn't much of interest it should have
reported rece

I've just found it a little inconvienent that FreeBSD dumps dmesg
output into ttyv0.
Here's why.
If you start up the system, and log in on ttyv0, all your X errors
(ie, poor mpegs) are thrown into the same console as your dmesg
output. I much prefer the way certain other unices have

Sorry to be impatient but I'm really curious about this stuff. I'm trying
to get my printer (HP LaserJet 4L) to function in Free BSD 5.2.1. I'm
following the handbook's instructions verbatim because I can't reliably get
the printer to print (even plain text). The handbook isn't appears to be

There is no ACPI support in -stable, and -current has only rudimentary
support. However, APM should still function fine for you.

but the only cards that I have is one ethernet pci
card, and my video card that is in the AGP slot. And
they are being properly detected.
