Looking at the commits of Oct 7, my thought is to just drop the _()
sections, and commit the rest. That is, leave for later the changes
Turkic (ottoman.ruleset) and Turk (turk.ruleset) to Turkish.

Done.

As of today, seven days have passed since the release of RC1. I believe that it
has passed the test according to the criteria we set up.

I have about half a day with nothing else planned on Saturday that I could
devote to Freeciv. If you're all ok with it, I'll tag 2.1.0 on Oct 27th a few
hours after
midnight CET (about noon locally) leaving a few more days for translators to
patch up their work and for us to do some more smoke testing.

Thoughts?

[Freeciv-Dev] (PR#39784) 2.0 end-of-life, releasing 2.1

2007-10-20 Thread William Allen Simpson

URL: http://bugs.freeciv.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=39784

Regarding the recent SDL additions to 2.1, I'm comfortable going ahead
with the release without another rc# cycle. SDL isn't (yet) finished,
but the new SDL features will make it *much* more likely to be tested in
the future (2.1.1 or 2.2)!

The Turkish translations seem to be coming on apace, should we wait?

What about the (PR#39718) Turkish nation fixes?

Anything else urgent?

Let's ask Ugur. If he's on track to finalize his work, it could be
worth waiting a few days for.

What about the (PR#39718) Turkish nation fixes?

The changelog have to be updated, but that is also the very last thing
that should go in before tagging.

To the best of my knowledge, the entire active group of developers
decided that 2.0 is at end-of-life. I had even posted a report to
coordinate 2.0.10, and it was not released. The discussion is over.

Sorry I didn't know about it. I didn't read any comment about it before
yours.

That is not true. I explicitly pointed you at the 2.0.10 (PR#39441) ticket
as of (PR#39575) Thu, 16 Aug 2007 06:48:37 -0700.

Both of those tickets are numbered and dated after the beginning of your
participation. You posted to this list about (PR#39358) vote in pregame
as far back as Wed, 25 Apr 2007 00:18:54 -0700.

I'll just point out for the record that I participated on this list circa
18 months before asking to be a developer And I'm an internationally
well-known Internet Engineer and open source developer, with design credit
in every *BSD release for many years.

1- I didn't know PR#39441.
2- My first ticket was before Wed, 25 Apr 2007.
3- I don't care that you are famous.
4- I think you don't know who I am, and what is my experience with Freeciv.
5- The only reason I'm not a developer to your eyes is, I just got
rights to be one, and all said no commit before 2.1.0 release, so I was
waiting (what you didn't: rev 13774).
6- I leave. There is no reason I fuck this project more than what you did.
7- I'm happy to don't be associated to the next S2_1 shit.

I never hated you, I just point to you some points which were against
the project. You fucked all the S2_0 branch, I just reported it. Good
luck to save Freeciv.

Pepeto, William: could you please keep your bickering off this list.
Whatever personal differences you two have, it shouldn't be allowed to
ruin the atmosphere of the project as a whole.

Thank you,
