[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #20411] National borders are fuzzy
Update of bug #20411 (project freeciv): Status:None = Wont Fix Open/Closed:Open = Closed ___ Follow-up Comment #9: Its not related to freeciv anymore. Making update in gentoo fixes it. Linux Mint 15 works ok also, ubuntu 13.04 too, openSuse 13 was affected, but haven't checked lately In gentoo unstable branch seems ok too now. I updateted totally about 50 packages. These are most suspicious: x11-libs/libxcb-1.9.1 x11-libs/libX11-1.6.0 x11-libs/libXext-1.3.2 x11-libs/libXt-1.1.4 x11-libs/libXfixes-5.0.1 x11-libs/libXxf86vm-1.1.3 x11-libs/libXtst-1.2.2 x11-libs/libXrandr-1.4.1 x11-libs/libXv-1.0.8 x11-libs/libXinerama-1.1.3 x11-libs/libXxf86dga-1.1.4 x11-libs/libXp-1.0.2 x11-libs/libX11-1.5.0-r1 x11-libs/libXau-1.0.7-r1 Probably one of them fixed it, but I have no time to check which one. I havent upgraded nvidia-drivers. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?20411 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #8, bug #20411 (project freeciv): Surely they are the same bug. As I told in first post, it only happens with in the Linux Mint 14 partition (I use default installation for all settings of Linux Mint 14 Mate). I don't get that weird graphics with Ubuntu 12.04, and never got them in many previous versions of Mint or Ubuntu. Tks. Follow-up Comment #7, bug #20411 (project freeciv): Hmm, bug #20739 looks very similar to this. There, it started when Michal switched to the proprietary Nvidia graphics driver. Are you by any chance using that? ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?20411 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #5, bug #20411 (project freeciv): So it *is* the city outline. - Could you test disabling *everything* but city outlines from View menu to see that it's drawing of the outlines themselves and not some bad interaction from other layers? - Is it possible that you're picking another trident tileset installation earlier in search path instead of the one you assume you're using? Does it refuse to launch if you rename that grid.png as grid.backup? (or does it happily pick up some wrong one) ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?20411 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #6, bug #20411 (project freeciv): Tks, Marko. I'm an experienced user, this time with Mint I did just the same as I have always done before so many times (with previous versions of Mint and Ubuntu): I always download fresh .tar.gz and configure and make it by myself, always with same compiling options. But this is the first time I am having this type of problem. I tried to rename grid.png, here's output: Unable to find client executable: freeciv Searching for freeciv clients ... ... using ./client/freeciv-gtk2 Running ./client/freeciv-gtk2 1: Could not load gfx file trident/grid. 0: Could not load gfx file for the spec file data/trident/grid.spec. BTW, with every layer turn off, except map grid, map grid is colored and shifted too. Tks. Follow-up Comment #2, bug #20411 (project freeciv): That looks to me like it's the citymap borders (solid line, View City Outlines) rather than the national borders (dashed line) that have gone wrong. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?20411 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #3, bug #20411 (project freeciv): That looks to me like it's the citymap borders rather than the national borders I don't think so. See how consistently follows national borders (similar national borders for the tile result in similar corruption). Citymap borders should be quite different. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?20411 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
