Follow-up Comment #6, bug #22607 (project freeciv): I'd missed that this symptom was already reported in bug #21038. Since it looks like the root cause is the same, I'm closing this as a duplicate. (The root cause is a bug in Gtk2. On Windows we're currently stuck with an ancient version of Gtk2

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #22607 (project freeciv): I note there's a scrollbar on the blank page, so it's probably not empty; it looks like the characters aren't being drawn properly. In Options / Local client / Font, what have you got selected for "Help Text"? Does changing it make a difference?
