Well... Network seems to be detected out of the box in VirtualBox ... pun was
not initially intended...

Hi Bernd,
Thank you for this extremely bug-fixing FDISK update!
Crazy how we survived using FDISK before those TWENTY
critical and high importance fixes in version 1.4.0 :-o
Does the FreeDOS installer still create 20 FAT16 drives if

I certainly wouldn't release anything I wrote back then. My coding
style at the time is best described as anarchist - you know, comments
are for girls, and variables longer than two characters are a waste of
disk space, things like that.

I tend to mostly agree with what you said.
Maybe the installer could end with a warning:
The following packages have been kept untouched from your previous
installation(s):

I found why my 1.4-RC1 was "broken".
Simply, I was using full-usb, where utilities are present but are not installed
by default.
So I was seeing packages from previous installed version of FreeDOS, for dog
and rcal...
because they were not installed.

As you are aware, we have provided a version of the FreeDOS install media as a
drive image for USB Sticks for some time. While this is technically FreeDOS on
USB, it is configured to be an installation source and not as a portable
version of FreeDOS. But, this is extremely easy to change. :-)

I released FDISK 1.4.0: https://github.com/FDOS/fdisk/releases/tag/v1.4.0
I will put this also into the Gitlab archive for FreeDOS 1.4 RC2.
The changes to the last version 1.3.4 shipped with FreeDOS 1.3 are listed below.

To be honest, it looks like just another student project cobbled
together while flunking math lessons. I've written at least two of
those in the nineties and soon learned I was going nowhere. To be
frank, we shouldn't try to bloat FreeDOS's software base, and instead

I just ran FD 1.4 RC1 with the new command.com 0.86 and the jemm in virtualbox, booted all three options more than 10 times, executed "reboot" - and at least at this trial there were no crashes.
Please do not worry about the package!

Did someone try it?
Could it be worth... still time... to package it for 1.4?

I remember that JEMM crashes sometimes when I reboot virtualbox, but never wrote a report.
Paul, did you already test the new jemm/jemmex 5.85 from Baron-von-Riedesels github account?
