I remember instances with the PowerQuest BootMagic program (a bootloader) where problems occurred. You could set multiple primary partitions active. Disk1, multiple primary partitions, FAT filesystem. Say primary partition 2 contains MSDOS..but..you also make primary partition 1 visible. In that

Hi Arkady, you can do even more: with a boot loader (lilo, grub, WinXP one...) you can boot FreeDOS from any partition on any sane int 13h device which is in FAT12/16/32 format. HOWEVER, the kernel will always search the config file on A: (if booted from ANY floppy) or C: (if booted from ANY hardd

Hi! You write that you have WinXP/Win9x/Linux/FreeBSD, so I am pretty sure that you do have a boot manager. So just go ahead and install FreeDOS and SYS that partition, even if it is not C: or primary master in any way. Then tell your boot manager that, to load DOS, the boot sector of that partit
