I just got my CrystalFontz633 lcd working with Freevo 1.5.3, and I have been
changing a couple things.
The one thing I can't seem to change though is the channel readout on the
lcd when in the TV Guide.
Right now the lcd plug-in is calling tv.channel_id, which reads out:

I know this is a very old topic, but I started setting up my next freevo
system (4th or 5th upgrade now), and I was able to work around this problem
I had almost a year ago.
To fix it, I simple put an empty input.conf in my ~/.mplayer directory. This
way the default mplayer inputs are overridden
Oh well, I was wrong... I thought I had this working (I swear it worked
once), but I can not repeat it...

This would be awesome! The screen flicker you mention is one of my minor
annoyances with my directfb setup.

Been playing with this latest release of freevo + directfb, and have noticed
that when playing video through mplayer, the freevo keyboard commands don't
work (but thew mplayer ones do!). This is quite annoying, especially since I
am using mplayer for TV viewing, and in order to change the channel,
I guess this is more of a tvtime directfb question, but since I am
planning to use it with freevo, I though I would start here, and see if
anyone else has had any luck with what I am trying to do.
I am setting up another (3rd) Freevo box, and do not want to use X. I have
directfb up and working
I finally got DirectFB (0.9.20) setup and working on my new test system
(using a G450!).
Also, download the 1.5-rc4 freevo, and booted it up, and I must say that it
is very impressive looking over 1.4 which I currently use on my 2 other HTPC
systems! Great work guys!
But now comes the problem I am
I spent the last few hours upgrading to freevo 1.4.1 (from 1.3.4). I see
many great improvements! Great Work guys!
The first thing that caught me by surprise though was not being able to
edit the properties of a scheduled recording, and actually, there are no
options at all when I scheduled the
I am running Freevo 1.3.4, was trying to make an fxd file for a new movie I
just got.
And if I run the script with more than one word in the search string, I get
zero results, even if I surround the multiple words with a question mark.
But if I run the script with only one work in the serach
Yes 800x600 is the geometry setting in my freevo.conf.
I took another look at the tvtime command line options (./tvtime --help),
and there is no way to set a parameter for output width, only height. I
guess it just scales the width proportionally?

Well, I was able to fix half my own problems... regaurding the tvtime
fullscreen issue.
I edited the ./src/tv/plugins/tvtime.py file.
I chnaged line 241 from:
command += ' -m'
To:
command += ' --height=600'
I am running freevo in X11 (using xv) at 800x600, and tvtime would never
start completely
I am pretty sure this is a bug, and wanted to bring it to someone attention
to see if it is a known issue or not. I am running Freevo 1.3.2 final.
I capture video using mencoder, and have finally started to play with using
more than one -vop option (mostly to crop out the black border my capture
since we wanted to release more often, I think it's time to do a new
release. We said we don't want any pre-releases anymore, but since
1.3.2 is quite stable and we added lots of new stuff (e.g. mmpython
and the new info area), I think we should name this release
1.3.3-pre1.
Here a (small)
Has it ever been considered to have more that one DIR_MOVIES variable in the
local_conf.py?
By this I mean being able to add multiple labled directories just after the
movies main menu item, rather than making them sub-dirs of the main
DIR_MOVIES location?
This would also allow for more
Thank You Rob! That appears to have fixed the issue I was having :)

I have been trying to get pre5-test5 up and running, but I am having some
issues with it when I try and watch tv or try and watch a movie (so pretty
much anytime I use mplayer). I am running a stock install of Slackware 9
with no X installed.
Also, I am using my own MPlayer 0.90 (final) release
