Well, the last bit of feature that Mail.app has that I envied it when I reluctantly dropped it is now in T-Bird. You can now select a line in a long e-Mail, hit reply and the line you selected would be included in your responsenothing else. Now I have to find out how to select multiple lines. Wow. If you already knew this, sorry. But I'm so excited, I thought I'd put it out there. Oh, I'm on T-bird 3 beta3. I can't wait for the post beta stage. Re: Window position assignment drives us nuts
Nope!! This is for positioning of 'Internet Connect Activity Monitor after startup. System = MDD, Dual 1.25 G4s, 1Gig mem, 1280x1024 display---Normal window usage -- leaves approx 1 of finder window showing beside the 'Mail', 'Safari', 'Firefox', whatever App is being used. I then placed 'Internet Connect' in the lower left corner of screen - This allows for continual monitoring of 'Internet connect' status. [pane placed so that the 'Connect/Disconnect' button is just above the DOCK, and the 'connect' info is still 'on screen'.] 'Activity Monitor' is placed in the lower right corner, with the 'Network' window against the right side of the screen, and the 'Data received' line of info. just above the DOCK. Attempts at 'locating' the placements have succeeded in locating 'Activity Monitor 'Horizontally' but NOT vertically. Same for 'Internet Connect' Chuck D. It is widely used by professionals throughout the audio industries for recording and editing in music production, film scoring, film and television post production. Pro Tools has three types of systems; HD, LE, and M- powered. HD is the high-end package and is an integration of hardware and software. The hardware includes an external A/D converter and internal PCI or PCIe audio cards with onboard DSP. I need to know the version of Pro Tools he`s trying to install. if you are osx 10.2 you can only run pro-tools up to version 6.1 and it would have to be a MIX system or a digi 01 You can run up to 6.4.1 mix on osx 10.3.8 and a digi-02 but this is where mix systems end and HD takes over. if you are running the first versions of HD you can run up to 6.9 on OSx 10.3.9 If you are running HD with pro tools 7 you must be on OSX 10.4.x If you are running HD with Pro tools 8 you must be on OSX 10.5x and thats only the start of the fun! Re: Dual G5 Problem
Maybe the new ram is out of spec? Even if it is not the ram, more likely it is a peripheral or component, so I will second the recommendation that you start disconnecting and pulling out components/substituting, one by one. It may be your keyboard, or some wireless/bluetooth device. You get power and the machine chimes, so power supply and motherboard seem fine. If it is your motherboard, there's not much you can do about it. Start with the cheap and more likely problem solving. I believe it's likely this is a RAM issue. Testing RAM issues in a G5 seems like a real hassle. Since you indicate these problems started before adding the new RAM, I'd start by pulling the OLD RAM and seeing if the new RAM alone stops the panics. My dual G5 with 8 sticks (4 pairs) was VERY finicky about RAM and it took me probably 15x at least of reseating and moving the RAM around before I found a combination of sticks slots whereby all the RAM was recognized and worked properly.
