I've been much frustrated by Apple's dropping my .mac account and the
subsequent hassles of using online icloud mail with OS 10.4. So I was
very happy to see the postings here that I could get my
Apple mail to my desktop via an IMAP account. I just want to let the

operating systems without a freeze or a seize or a crash. I'm thinking I wasted
my money on OS 10.5. Anyone have any ideas that might be helpful here?

Thanks for the reply. I am wondering, should I wipe the hard drive and

Thanks for the suggestion. I also used Tech Tool Pro a few years ago when I

Diskwarrior sufficient?

I have two MDD G4's running OS 10.4.11. Does anyone know if these
computers will successfully run OS 10.5?
Thanks for your help.

My G5 just shuts down and restarts itself. And often freezes up.
Does this sound like a faulty power supply to you folks?

I have two G5 PowerMac 2.5 Quads and when I leave them running all
the time I do see a difference in my electric bill. I would sure like
to see a definitive answer to your question about sleep. I'll be
watching replies with interest.

My Powermac 2.5 Quad recently shut itself down while I was using it.
I was alarmed until I looked at my APC Back-UPS XS 1000 (a relatively
expensive battery backup unit) and discovered that it was switching
itself from line power to battery power and back for no reason. Three

I have two 1.25 GHz MDD G4's, bought them new, and have used them
heavily for graphics work from the start. I vote for them as the most
reliable G4, but with one caveat. The air intake grill is set up
under the front foot and it is possible to not know it is there or to
forget to keep it

Don't do anything drastic to your quicksilver yet. I have two MDD

I have been using my MDD G4 (not that far removed from the
quicksilver) for months now with a startup button that sometimes
flickers, dies and does not start (a problem that began after I
accidently disconnected the power while it was running). But given a
rest for a few hours it starts
My MDD G4 appears to have a bad startup switch (the button I push on
front to start it). Does anyone know if it is possible to take this
switch out and put in a new one? It appears to be fastened in there
with pop rivits or some other non-removable attachment.
Thanks,

Is it a good idea to leave my mirror door G4's running all the time?
Or is it better to shut them down at night? I''ve been shutting them
down at night for seven years. Guess I should have asked this
question sooner.
