Want to report AHT 1.2.6 works fine on both my: DA Dual 533, Leopard 10.5.8, Geforce4MX, Firmtek SATA PCI, IOGEAR USB 2 PCI setup and on my QS 2002 Dual 1GHz, Leopard 10.5.8, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, On-board ATA, No 10.5.8 Drivers (Intentional) M-Audio 2496 PCI. The ATI Radeon video card test also worked using an IOGEAR DVI-D to HDMI Adapter while driving a 1920x1080 LED/LCD TV. Meant to also mention, on my QS 2002, I had to reconnect a hardwired USB KB and Mouse, and reboot, as the Wireless Logitec Mouse would not function when using AHT 1.2.6 disk. Also, on a Restart, after running AHT, it is necessary to hold down the mouse, to eject the CD so your machine will reboot from the hard drive. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. Hardware Test CD
Does anyone know if the Apple Hardware CDs are specific to the machine it was purchased with? The reason I asked is I tried running the Apple Hardware Test CD from my Quicksilver 2002 on a 733mhz Digital Audio G4 and it will not run. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. Check The jumpers setting in The back of the DVD. Try to switching from master to cable select...try every position. TURN OFF THE SYSTEM AND KILL THE POWER BEFORE TOUCH ANYTHING. They have a range of machines per version number. You can see what AHT do you need using mactracker. AHT 1.2.4, which I got for my Quicksilver 2002 Dual 1GHz, just ran successfully on my Digital Audio Dual 533. I did not remove my PCI cards on either machine as Apple suggests, or disconnect the Ethernet. Luck maybe? I had the Geforce4 MX native video card in each machine, if I remember correctly about the QS 2002. It is currently in my DA Dual 533. After googling, I found: http://www.applelinks.com/index.php/more/apple_posts_hardware_test_images_and_information_for_free_download/ which suggests AHT 1.2.6. It links you to Apple's page for this version and others. http://www.info.apple.com/support/aht.html Good Luck. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. It will ask you to insert a CD, insert the CD and burn it on the slowest setting.
