Now that you mention it It is quite normal with the screeching fans, but
it can be annoying from time to time. And yes, mine is also a A1117 too.

I have had some expirience with PM G5 towers, and they do have some noisy
fans, not to mention the annoying red LED light. Just to warn you, do be
careful that your PM G5 IS NOT liquid cooled, because there were sooo many
reports piling up saying that their processor cooling unit just exploded or
The liquid cooler death is pretty well known by now. Mine are all dual 2gig
units so they never had this device ticking away inside in the first place.
